This is the sort of hotel you expect at a place like Aguas Calientes - everyone is there to visit Machu Picchu and then move on - as a result it doesn't need to be that good or luxurious - just do the job and keep people warm, dry and fed. It does just that...

Plus points: friendly staff, good left luggage so you don't have to drag things up the hill to MP, decent breakfast available from 4am - important so you can get to the first bus... We had an evening meal included which was well cooked and tasty and saved braving the various restaurant scams going on in town.

Minus points: small rooms, basic decor. Most annoying very limited toiletries - one cheap shampoo sachet each and some soap. This is a particular problem because greedy PeruRail insist that you can only carry one hand luggage on the train up - so you will almost certainly have cut back on toiletries (in favour of clothes, waterproofs, cameras etc) assuming the hotel would provide some.

Overall: OK - could do better.

Rooms here are adequate and clean. Standard breakfast offerings. No lift, so more stairs after visiting MP. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Central location so close to everything. Can recommend Indi Feliz restaurant - good food and service.

Clean comfy large room. Good linens. Great shower. Friendly and helpful staff. Just as I was readying to sleep around midnight a small marching band blasting music stopped (while still playing music) outside the window down below on the walkway. Was not a funeral procession at midnight. They did move on down the path in a few minutes. Rather than being annoyed I found it all very interesting in good humor. Great location. Great for a hardy solo traveler. Not for you if you need quiet or luxury or romantic or 4-star accommodations. Local therapeutic masseuse will come to your room for professional massage - great option after a day of big hiking and sore muscles. They stowe luggage for you on checkout day and can deliver luggage to train for you. Would stay there again.

Room Tip: Quieter rooms are not facing main walkway. Better views from rooms on main walkway side.

You have lots of choices and none of them great but this one is just OK. Lots of outside noise and no heat because of no insulation. Lobby furniture is dated and tacky. At best, a lower lever Best Western.

Pros: free wifi, decent dinner, HOT showers, helpful staff, stored baggage.

Cons: Very noisy at night, it was like a party in our room! Our room faced a bar, music/ DJ stopped at 10, but we were getting up at 5:00am to see MP at sunrise. Conversations continued well into the night...

I will not recommend this hotel.

Stayed one night as a couple in a double room. Nice hotel, but like most other places in Aguas Callientes overprized. We actually booked another hotel with the same owners/mother company but were offered a free upgrade to this place. Room was nice and clean, breakfast good and staff was helpful. Wifi didn't seem to work in the room, but there was a computer with internet access in the hall. In general (in other places in Peru outside of AC) I would expect more for that price. Location was fairly good, short walk to the train station and close to the hot springs.
