“Nice view & staff, good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2012 via mobile

Overlooking the plaza de armas, the atmosphere is sophisticated & the menu options are diverse. I had fried trout, which was a bit overcooked but still good. The chocolate cake definitely hit the spot afterward! Total meal was 32 Soles, for 1 beer, 1 entree & cake, so mid-range priced. Nice meal & the service was friendly & fast.

“Great breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2011

Thoroughly enjoyed the overlooking view of the plaza. Breakfast was delicious. We had an omelet and fruit yogurt and granola which I guess it is hard to mess up any of those things but nonetheless it was delicious! Wish we had gone back for a second meal to see what else they had to offer!

“Average food and service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2010

The location of Bistro de los Andes is ideal being right in the center of the main plaza of Huaraz. However, once entering the restaurant you will find mediocre atmosphere and very mediocre service. The group I was with ordered hamburgers, a pasta dish, and salad. Everyone seemed to be happy with their orders, but the wait was quite long. After finishing the main course, we had to wait an extra 20 minutes for dessert that was ordered at the beginning of the meal. The location is a bit deceiving. Although they might be a block or 2 away from the main square I have found their to be many better restaurants in Huaraz.

“So good, we ate there twice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2009

We were tipped off to Bistro de los Andes by a glacier expert who spends a lot of time in Huaraz, and his recommendation was spot on. The food at Bistro de los Andes is surprisingly good and not overpriced, and portions are geared for adventurers (read: ample). We ate here for dinner one night, and enjoyed hamburgers and the local trout (raised in glacier lakes). It was so good, we returned the next morning for ham and cheese crepes, pancakes and an enormous "Andean" breakfast that gave us energy for the next eight hours. Great espresso, tasty (and safe) salads.
