Me and other two friends went to see Ciocanesti village, during Trout Festival (14-16 August 2009). We chose this as it was closer to Ciocanesti than Vatra Dornei. We stayed 2 nights, in two twin-bed rooms.
Arrived around 8 pm, we made arrangements by phone with 2 days before. Host found us quickly and gave us the room keys. There was a large sign that internet is available for hotel guests, we had no internet devices to test it.
Rooms are large, clean and very decent.
Bath had clean towels, instant hot water.
Our rooms faced the street, do not mind this as there is very little to none traffic. Hotel is at 50m from street and is perfectly visible and easy to spot, even in the night. We came from Ciocanesti and hotel is on left side of street.
There was even a conference room (we did not entered).
On saturday nigth there was a wedding and we could hear music, nonetheless, i slept very well.
Some german tourists left the hotel on Sunday morning, they seemed cheerful and ready to explore more surroundings.
I would recommend this for a trip like this: first day, go to Ciocanesti for "Festivalul Pastravului". Second day, go to Prislop, for "Hora de la Prislop" This hotel is located ideally between these locations and you will not ever regret that you have chosen it.More
