Astoria Boutique Hotel

I visited the place for breakfast an early morning and it was one of the only places open at that time (around 8 am). Very good point there!
The breakfast was a bit boring with not loads of choice. We had coffee and tostaed bread (called pastry in the menu) with some jam, honey and butter. Nothing extraordinary but i still found a piece of iron that looked like the staple of a tea bag. Not sure how it end there but it definitely got me badly surprised when bitting into it.

Checked in to the Astoria after a poor experience at the Avala resort across the square.

Firstly the receptionist Gordana was extremely helpful and efficient, she seems to manage the hotel with precision!

There is no lift in the hotel though Gordana quickly organised for our (heavy) bags to be carried up to our room on the 2nd floor.

Location is great just in the old town gate. Wifi included and covers the room and the vicinity (even parts of the beach) was great.

Our room was spotlessly clean, well appointed and quiet. It was quite small if travelling with two large suitcases, but not really a problem and the option of a larger superior room was presented to us originally, but for just 1night we had no problem.

Included breakfast is a card allowing you to order alacarte from the Astoria cafés either on the beach or in the square. Very nice after many hotel-buffet breakfasts! Service was great and very attentive.

The beach is close (behind the building) and has both the cafe and room for sunbeds/umbrellas.

We would definitely recommend this hotel over the larger (less service orientated) Avala, the only thing which would have made this a perfect hotel is a pool, though given space is limited this would be next to impossible.

Spent 3 nights at the hotel in mid June as part of out first trip to Budva. The location of the hotel is excellent with the close proximity of the beach and being within the old town. The size of the suite was good with 2 tvs and a separate lounge / reception room. The reception staff, in particular Jelena, were excellent and very informative and friendly. The breakfast was good with a good selection from the menu. The rooftop and beach restaurants have good food and service as well as a fantastic outlook. The hotel is boutique and thus would not be suitable for those that like the large US chain hotels and the standard amenities they provide. Also, it does not have an elevator so guest with mobility issues should be aware.

A touch overpriced, but would definitely stay here again.

If you want to party for half the night and crash out till midday then this place will be fine for you. If, like us, you are touring, and you need to get up at 6.30am for an 8.00am departure then this place is a nightmare. There are only 12 rooms but all the others seemed to contain noisy Italians who returned to their rooms between 2am and 5am, shouting and slamming doors as they went.

As everyone has to walk right past the 24-hour reception desk, this behaviour is obviously sanctioned by the management.

A shame, because Budva itself is a nice little place.

Its difficult if not impossible to beat the location of the Astoria. On the beach and yet inside the old walled city. Breakfast is a dream on the beach. The rooms are good. No elevators so watch it if you have mobility issues. The only issue for me was that the jacuzzi wasn't working. 5 star comforts like bathrobe and slippers. They setup a baby cot for us before our arrival which was great,

If you have a car you will have to park in the very expensive public car park nearby (20 euros or more a day). You will have to haul your luggage around 100 yards as this hotel is in the old town with no vehicles allowed.

Room Tip: try to get a sea view room. also remember to choose a lower floor if you have mobility issues. the t...

We have stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during our 10 day EX Yugoslavia trip. The hotel is based on the edge of old town, so it is easy reachable on foot from the parking spot (no parking possible in the city walls)

Rooms are OK,stuff was nice. We got family room for the price of regular 2+1.

I loved the breakfast area which is on the other side of the city walls - literary on the beach front. The dishes were to be ordered and they were perfect.

Would recommend it for out of season but it must be crowd ed during peek summer.
