“Laid-Back & Relaxed, Good Location, Great Value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 November 2013 via mobile

Situated in central Budva this hostel/guest-house is a reasonable prospect for anybody looking for quality and value in an enviable location. It's within walking distance of the bus station and the beach and the local neighbourhood is a quiet residential area with restaurants, shops and a supermarket nearby.

The private bedrooms each have self-contained bathrooms leading off from small hallways. The furnishings were basic, although the rooms did have A/C, fridges and (very small) TV sets. There were also outdoor seating areas, a small garden, a communal terrace and a lounge. Good WiFi available in all areas and information/maps available (+ photo-copies of newspapers!).

The decor is quite tired and there are plenty of squashed insects on the paintwork, mattresses were on the thin side as were the rather threadbare towels. There were no toiletries available either so it's a case of bring your own...Also don't forget your insect repellant and a fly-swat to keep the bugs at bay...

There was a very easy-going vibe and the live-in owner/manager was an amiable character who was ready to give help and assistance whenever required. All in all The Mojo offered a sound place to rock-up for a few days when the holidaymakers were fewer and further between....I couldn't help but feel that it could have done with just a bit more 'Mojo' although to be fair you get what you pay for...

I have to say that visiting a place like Budva in the low season is part of it's appeal for me...I travelled through Montenegro back in the summer and I can't say that this particular resort was a very attractive prospect (due to being really over-crowded and over-priced)...However, if you are looking for a beach resort in Montenegro's 'riviera' then this would seem to be it, although at the time of writing the beaches were all dirty and practically deserted.

All things considered I've stayed in worse places and paid a great deal more for the privilege so as a single traveller on a lay-up for a few days it did the trick.

This review was based on what I expect  from a small value oriented guest house/apt  The room was clean and adequately equiped.  The bed was good if you like a firm bed.  The location seemed safe  and was convenient to the old town, and bus station.  The internet was good and there were several English channels on the TV. The staff was helpful and spoke good English. The apartment is a little older and as with most value oriented places has some flaws, but nothing significant. I would stay there again.

Opted for the one bedroom apartment as too old/snobby for a hostel dorm and it proved a marvellous option.

Lots of space, a nice spacious bedroom and bathroom, little kitchen area and fridge - priceless - in addition to a little living area with TV and sofas made it great to pop back to after a long day of wandering about the Montenegro seaside!

Steps were good exercise after a decent feed and beers! Close to town centre and especially the beach.

Hostel has a good location not far from beach and ten mins walk from bus station. Staff were very friendly. Room was small but you are out all the time so it doesn't matter. Kitchen was well equipped and each room had a fridge. Plenty bathrooms.

Great accommodation in the center of Budva. We stayed as group of friends over weekend and had a great time.
The apartment we got was more than enough for 4 persons and very clean.
The house is very close to city center and we didn't have to drive all around the city, everything was just few minutes away.
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Would definitely stay here again.

A great hostel, friendly and informative staff and a convenient location, minutes from the coast. When we read the reviews on this hostel, many people hadn't rated it all that well so we weren't expecting much but for about £10 for the two of us, we had a double bed, hot water, a clean room, a tv and our own kitchen in our room with a stove, a fridge and utensils. The staff were really helpful on the best places to visit and if there was anything we needed, they were there to help even when they were off duty.

For travellers who complain, If you pay £10 a night for a room, don't expect the ritz hotel! We ended up staying for an extra two nights because we enjoyed our stay so much and had the freedom to relax in our own space. It's perfect for basic accommodation. The room was very clean and neat when we arrived which doesn't happen always in hostels and the care the staff gave, truly upped the whole package!

Room Tip: I'm not sure if all the rooms come with their own little kitchen and TV, so if you did want thos...
