“Very nice and relaxed place, great owner”
Reviewed 18 October 2012

Came for one night and stayed for three. Bojo is a very good host and gave excellent suggestions for day trips. Rooms and area are very clean and nice view from balcony off room. Breakfast is enough until dinner. Walking distance to town and close to market and good restaurant but a car is necessary for day trips.

Bed is a bit hard but rooms are nice with good storage.

Room Tip: Sea view room is best.

We stayed for 2 weeks and had a lovely stay. The hotel owner and his family were utterly charming. Breakfast was amazing and there was a different speciality each day, from fresh omlettes, home made cheese pie, to sausages etc. Bojo the owner was so helpful and made our stay so much more enjoyable - booking boat tours and arranging for a car to pick us up and take us to another village for a meal at a romantic waterside setting where we had beautiful fish and then were brought home by the restaurant owner. Bojo also arranged taxis to the airport for 35 euro from Dubrovnik. Go you will not be disappointed. Bojo if you read this the walnut cakes were beautiful, thanks for everything we will be back. We stayed here in August / September 2012 and I think everything has already in reviews before. Spotlessly clean, nice rooms with a nice view out towards the sea. Breakfast in the morning consisted of a cold selection of meats, spreads, bread, tea, coffee, juice, bottled water then a different hot dish brought to your table every morning. We liked the surprise but might be worth mentioning to the owner if you have any dislikes / allergies food wise. Also liked the fact that the room was cleaned whilst we were at breakfast each morning as it meant we could go back to a fresh room afterwards. Rooms also had a little fridge in them and the air con was cold and not too loud.
The owner, it's so simple but so effective what he does... good old fashioned hospitality! It's as simple as that. 2 mornings we had to leave early for activities we had planned, breakfast was at 7.30 but he let us come down early so we could get out on time. Even the morning we went to trek up Orjen (mountain above Herceg Novi) he gave us 2 bottles of water after breakfast to take with us. He arranged car hire for us from a local company, he got us a welcome drink when we arrived. Anything we need he was more than happy to help / guide us, even gave a lift to the bus station when we left!
There is also a free laundry service there which is useful, especially for us as most of our clothes were dirty from going out and doing activities. It's 2 minutes walk down some steps to a public beach at the bottom and the promenade which has private and public beaches all the way along. It's about a 10 minute walk to the old town. It seems to be the quieter end of the town, but plenty of little bars and nice restaurants to be found nearby to enjoy in the evening.
Everywhere we went in Montenegro everyone was so welcoming and friendly and this was reflected in this place. The owner, his family, the cleaner were all so polite and took so much pride in what they do it's a just a pleasure to have stayed there.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights and had a splendid time. The owner and his family show real pride in their establishment and work hard to cater to your needs. Everything you've read about the breakfast is true - it's amazing. The views from the rooms are breathtaking.

We originally booked for one night in a double and after taking one look from our balcony decided to stay an extra night - we had to switch rooms for the second night and for a minimal fee were upgraded to an apartment on the top floor with a great little kitchenette and an even better view - you want this room!

The downside of the hotel is it's a bit far from the old town - in the heat it was tough. The beds aren't the least comfortable I've slept on but I've slept on much better. Lastly, our stay ended on a bit of a rough note. The owner seemed to be rushing us out of our rooms all the time. When we switched rooms after the first night, they really pushed us to move out quickly since they had another couple waiting for the room even though check out was 11 (it was 8:30 when this happened). More of the same the second morning, no one waiting but they really tried to get us out and on our way early. To me, if check out is 11, it's 11 - don't rush me otherwise change the check out time. The internet was also down and we needed to get the address of our next place to stay in Kotor. We were told by the owner that he had called and internet was down across Montenegro. This of course wasn't true as we were able to log onto the internet at the bus station (and got a puzzled look from the cafe owner there when we enquired whether or not internet was working yet).

All in all, I would still recommend this hotel to others. It was a very good stay, not perfect, but close.

Room Tip: Recommend a room with a view, it's worth it!

We stayed two nights at the Garni Hotel this summer, and had a splendid time in a beautiful corner of the world. The wonderful proprietor was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was stunning, with amazing views of the bay from the outdoor terrace. The place creates an aura of relaxation such that you'll never want to leave. It's an easy walk to the center of town or the Savina monastery. Staying at the Garni made our time in Montenegro a great experience...

I have no hesitation about recommending this hotel. We stayed here for the first 2 nights of our tour around Kotor Bay and we really enjoyed it. From the moment we arrived the owner + his family took great care of us, the room was very good, lovely terrace overlooking the bay and the aircon was much appreciated. The breakfasts were generous and the hospitality first rate. The climb down the steps to the sea took just a few minutes and then we found this to be a great location... the sea was clean, plenty of spots if you want to hire a sunbed and some space and lots of good restaurants / bars along the lively 7km promenade to the centre of Herceg Novi / Igalo. Thanks for a great stay at the Hotel Garni Bokeska Noc!

We are a young couple with a 2 year old baby girl. We spent 5 days at this hotel.
I can only recommend it for anyone, families as well as friends or couples.
The apartment was very nice and clean, with a terrace to the garden. From the bedroom we had a view on the sea.
The breakfast was served in the beautiful garden, where we also had a view to the sea, entrance og the Bay of Kotor, palm trees. The breakfast was also fabulous, every day a little different, but always of high-quality. The owner took special attention of our little daughter that she receives what she would like to eat. He also offered us to take us to the hospital anytime if needed (as she had high temperature for some time). He and his family are perfect hosts!
The beach is close, just walking down the stairs beside the hotel.
