... without a train in front of you. Enjoy a lovely restored old stone built train station right on the port and beach of Herceg Novi. The small hotel offers a warm welcome, nice room, great view and also a nice coffee bar. Especially the breakfast in the Gallery Room will inspire you. The close (70m) little beach with sweetwater spring invites you for sunbathing and swimming.
The old stone building with quite thick walls and high ceiling gives you the "castle feeling". The nice and friendly couple and their young team is hosting you in a special way.

Perfect place! after a long trip though most of the countries of former Joegoslavia we finaly arrived in Herceg Novi. We were immediately charmed by this little town. We had slept in the busy Budva one night and had doubted between Kotor and Herceg Novi for the few last nights. Mid may this old and quiet town right at the seaside was a revelation. The Hotel, a former trainstation and cinema was splendid. We got a large and tastfully furnitured room at 35€ a night, (large room, seaview, good bed, private toilet and bathroom off course included. As it was not in the season and we were the only guests in the hotel which for the price -quality was amazing. Djuro the extremely helpful bartender left us the keys after he closed his very sympathetic pub (funded by Emir Kusturica, the well known filmmaker)at 5 in the afternoon. Room with a view on the harbour, a few nice, relaxing pubs in the neighbourhood, the sea at 20 meters, a lively small street in the evening, medieaval town bult above, one of the best cheapest fish restaurants at a few steps (Konoba Feral!!) what possible could you expect more? Only if the fact that you have to park your car up town and have to take some 100 steps down to the seaside or take a taxi with your luggage, bothers you don't take the hotel (or if you want a perfect television or wifi). If not grasp it while it is still not found! From June till september Herceg Novi gets crowded,we heard, so perhaps in this period it could be less interesting, but still the best place at the coast in Montenegro. We slept at much higher prices in all different places in montenegro, croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia but this hotel and location was by far the nicest.

I stayed in the Hotel Aurora for two nights in September 2012.
I would not stay in Herceg Novi again as it was a little quiet for my taste but the hotel was fine for the cost, a little run down and the staff were not the most helpful. The focus seems to be more on the cafe than the hotel and I felt like I was inconveniencing the staff when I asked for help.
There was no lift and my room was on the fourth floor. I asked for a double room and was given a twin. The staff spoke little English and often needed a translator. The wifi signal was not strong enough in my room so I had to sit in the cafe to check emails.
It is a long trek back up the hill from the hotel to the bus station but the location is great for restaurants and the beach. The room was clean.
