We stayed here one night. The rooms and the facilities have been used for a long time and could need some renovation. We came from a more fancy hotel than Hunguest and were therefore somewhat disappointed when we arrived. It was much cheaper but still we were not satisfied (Our daughter was the most disappointed and just wanted to leave since there was no heated swimming pool). On the plus side: We enjoyed the evening in the restaurant which at night time was cosy

The hotel is in need of renovation when in it's prime I am sure that it was a nice 4 star hotel but today it need some attention to detail.
Room was not cleaned well and the childrens pool also needed cleaning lots of sand and leaves in the pool, water kind of murky.
It was also a bit of a safety hazard as there were lots of places where if you were not careful where you stepped you could fall several meters down. dangerous for children unless you keep them under constant supervision.

I stayed at Sun Resort recently.

The hotel is located very convenient between the old town and the newer part of town Igalo. The hotel is actually pretty decent, there's free internet (cable), flatscreen tv with international channels, a really great pool and wellness center with jacuzzi.

There are just some interesting things which just doesn't justify Hunguest Sun Resort as a four star hotel. The staff is polite but ranges from slow to absurdly slow. We could easily sit in the restaurant for 15-20 minutes before getting any attention. When we went and got the waiter we were told to sit down as they would come to our table and take our order.

This happened a few times, and since we were on a holiday it didn't really bother us that much, but it shouldn't happen that often in a 4 star establishment.

Another strange thing was the big sign next to our minibar which forbid guests to use the minibar for their own water, beer etc. It also stated that no food or drinks from outside the hotel was allowed to be brought into the room, and that the hotel had the right to inspect this. A bit weird since the hotel didn't even had a store to sell bottled water.

Apart from this the hotels bar is cheap, food is quite good and the beach and adjoining promenade is one staircase down from the hotel.

I guess Sun Resort can be a pretty great hotel if it get's some time.

We spent 4 nights in the hotel and finally left Montenegro quite happy. The room was good (deluxe room, which is pretty big), but with some minor disadvantages. For example, they offer you good quality bathrobes, but no slippers.
Service in the room was really bad - they could leave you without new shampoo, do not wash dirty glasses etc. But in general this didn't annoy us too much.
Breakfast also could be better - I expected to see some fresh fruits/berries in June, and coffee was awful.
Receptionists were friendly and helpful, and could speak English :)
Nature and the sea were perfect. Hotel's beach was big ang quite good.
So, as a summary - it was good but could be better.

Lots and lots of steps. Quite well run and efficient but rooms varied a great deal - ask for one with sun! Fantastic position and friendly helpful staff. Good restaurants nearby - the hotel food was varied and plentiful but could be disappointing. Wellness centre excellent, also the beauty treatments done by twin sisters - a bit confusing until you work this out as the girl seemed to be in 2 places at once!!!

We spent 5 nights in this hotel last August. We were picked up at Dubrovnik Airport by the hotel minibus. The transfer took no more than 30 mins but considering that you have to cross a border it could be more.

The hotel is located right over the Bay of Kotor which is very beautiful, crystal clear waters, buzzing life, etc. Tourism has only started here but the locals will try very hard to please you. Good thing that they use Euros. Prices are average.

The hotel consists of several independent buildings built in different styles. There are two restaurants, one is for the halfboard and the other is a'la carte. The food is good but not too many choices. The halfboard buffet is also good and usually has a Hungarian dish since the hotel is under Hungarian management. Our rooms were spacious with a nice balcony, huge king size bed, LCD TV, lots of English channels, etc.

There is an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by well kept vegetation. The terrace is quiet overlooking the sea. Nice.
There is also a small spa in one of the buildings with jacuzzi, two or three small saunas, etc.

There is an always crowded walkway separating the hotel from the sea which you can take to explore the surroundings. There is not very much to see though Herzegnovi is nice in the evening. It's about 15-20 minutes walk from the hotel.

In short:
Good hotel with quality service at a very good location.

I would definitely return.

A good hotel. Rooms are nice and clean but plumbing doesn´t work so well. You have to shower in intervals so you dont flood the bathroom floor.
The airconditioning could not cope with the heatwave (38 C) we had.
Service in the hotel is good. Most things get fixed the same day.
