This is one of the sights which needs to be on your must see list in Anuradhapura. The many elephant sculptures at the outer wall is what makes this stupa different from the many other sights. It can be easily reached by bike from town following rural roads. We went two days on a bike around Anuradhapura and this bike trip was clearly the highlight of our travel in Sri Lanka.

This again part of the world heritage site and well worth a trip. The stupa is enormous! Other than the actual stupa there is not a lot to see.

This Stupa built by King Dutugamunu, many centuries ago, holds the most amount of Lord Buddhas relics, hence a very important & religious place of worship to Buddhists all over the world. Its so huge that when drums are beaten on one side the sound does not reach the other side.

A must see if one visits Anuradhapura.
