This is a bit overrated as it’s man made golden temple in the current era. There is not much historical significance here.

This sightseeing has 2 moments:
1) visit of the Golden Temple: immediately, in distance, a 30meter high golden sculpture of Buddha can be seen. The giant Buddha sits in position of “the teaching”.
Under him, there is the particular entrance to the museum: it looks like to a dragon mouth. Around the sites there are many flowers and holy trees (for Buddhism).
You can walk around the golden sculpture, above the museum.
2) visit of Caves Temple: after climbing several steps you arrive at the entrance. For respect of the place, it’s recommended to take your shoes off, to have long pants (men), to cover shoulders and legs (women). There are some caves inside which you can find many sculptures of Buddha. Some are colourful and som white. There are also some pictures on the caves walls.
Important: you can not take photos of you beside Buddha sculptures
Very cheap visit

Cave temples with beautiful Buddha's. Serene and peaceful atmosphere. It is more expensive for tourists. You will have to climb steps to get to the Temples and will also have to take off your shoes before going into the Temple. Overall, it is worth the climb.

After climbing Lion Rock in the morning the 300 or so stairs was no difficulty. The caves are well worth the visit and it pays to have a guide who can explain the various caves and differing ages of the paintings and statues to gain a full experience.
