The Amaya Lake was not very busy when we were there (Dec. 2013) and we had a great time to relax from our daily tours. The area is big and the lake in front of the hotel very calm. However, not ideal for swimming as it looks still al little wild. The bar and the restaurant and excellent and the service is very attentive and nice. Our little bungalow was very charming but make sure we have an anti-mostique liquid with you, not to get eaten by night.
