early morning drive from Colombo airport to Pinnawela and the humid weather took a toll on us. still we dare to drive down to Dambulla into this resort. Entering the resort amidst lush green surroundings gave a huge relief and kindled freshness in us. Room boys helped us and soon we realised we were amidst nature unlike in the other resorts. Chirping of birds perched on the trees, gentle sway of the branches and falling of leaves kept our spirit high.
Hospitality was no less and the quality food made us feel homely. Needles to say the manager and his staff did their best to meet all our requirements.
Clean swimming pool and other amenities for games kept children busy. If one is looking for freshness and a lush green surrounding, this is worth. I did spend some time looking at the mangoes just outside the room in which I stayed which was quite comfortable.
At night the resort has its pathway lit all the way and amidst the dark green surrounding it looks wonderful.
On the whole worth the money I spent.

Lovely resort in a great setting. Really nice orchard and friendly staff who we enjoyed cricket with. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Spent a night here while bicycle touring, our bikes just sat outdoors looked after by the staff.

We (6 adults) started our 2 week holiday here and fell in love with the hotel and staff immediately.
Having expectations high , we weren't disappointed in the slightest. We unanimously declared the food here set the standard and the staff fantastic.....The following 2 nights in Thilanka Kandy were equally great ...Highly recommended !

Room Tip: In Dambulla, rooms 206 / 207 upstairs near the pool ideal .

The hotel is set in wonderful grounds full of wildlife, many fruit trees and paddy fields. It's very peaceful and relaxing and has a superb swimming pool as it's central feature. The pool was the main draw for us as we are travelling with our young son.

Unfortunately the general upkeep, maintenance and hygiene of the rooms really lets it down. On entering our room we found a used ashtray and rubbish in the bin from the previous guest. Not an ideal first impression. On day two I spoke to the management regarding specific cleaning issues in the bathroom. These included the very dirty jacuzzi bath (thick brown smelly sludge around the plug hole and all bubble vents), the large dead bug that was still in the shower post the daily clean and general lack of care and attention to standards that you expect when paying for a hotel of this calibre. The manager was very apologetic, so I was hoping that these issues would be rectified the following day. They weren't (see attached photos).

If management aren't prepared to take action when basic cleaning issues are raised by a paying customer then the long term success of an establishment is doomed. Would I recommend staying here? If cleanliness is important to you then no, absolutely not.

stayed at this hotel with my family & it good place to relax. its chalets are very clean, spacious & has a big bath room. all the chalets are in a very huge mango plantation even when there is no fruits, you find birds, squirrels all around. so you may imaging when there is fruits (in april) .. how chanting will it be ...

you find a nice rectangle shaped pool, but not very big one & the paddy filed next to the pool gives the whole thing a rich greeny & lush look which your eyes will feel so comfortable.

you find both western & local cuisine to dine.. & i should say the food is not great but good. also there is a place to have barbecue dinner & a ground if you want to play cricket, foot ball etc..

the staff is friendly & helpful & good hotel to relax.
