This Hotel was situated in Galle road itself, and was accessible to the town. Overall the hotel was small compared to expected. We booked a triple room and for what it looked like, they had stuffed an extra bed to a double room but charged the rate of a triple room. The room was a little cramped up. But the food was really good, They had a good spread and good choice of food. The staff was friendly and obliging. The beach was clean and unpopulated unlike other beaches in Hikkaduwa. Overall it was good hotel and we had great vacation.

Dear Guest,

A few rooms are small. The Hotel is closing for the months of May, June and July for renovations and we will consider your comments when making improvements. Thank you for your kind remarks.

We stayed for 10 nights at Coral Rock in March 2014 and loved every minute of it! We had a deluxe room with a balcony and a view of the ocean. Staff was extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming, breakfast was delicious, room was comfortable and cleaned daily, the pool area was lovely, location was good... We genuinely enjoyed our stay here. Coral Rock by Amaya is more expensive than other hotels around, but we considered it to be worth the amount paid, and it did appear to be one of the best hotels in the area. We warmly recommend it!

Room Tip: We enjoyed our deluxe room with a view of the ocean. The main road passing through Hikkaduwa may get...

I have visited the Coral Rock by Amaya during last year for an one overnight stay... Nice place very close to the sea. Felt the sea & fresh air... but space in rooms are comparatively low... specially the bathrooms.... they are smaller.... but overall very satisfied with the service provided.....

We came to the hotel's restaurant because of the amazing view to the hotel's pool and the ocean. Service was good but we were disappointed by food. We ordered steak and seafood plate. Steak was tough and well-done instead of medium. The grilled lobster was terrible. After our complaining they gave us desserts as compliments but, to be honest, desserts were also untasty. It was a pity - 8 000 rupees wasted.

We arrived to be given a room less than half the size of our friends rooms, with no balcony and a window direct on to the public poolside area. The shower did not work and was full of another persons hair, the toilet seat was broken, bedside lamp mouldy, lights in the room did not work. The bathroom vent must have been direct to the kitchen because there were clear loud voices and cooking noises all hours of the day. After complaining we were told we could move rooms the next morning. In the morning we were then told we had to stay in the room for another 2 nights before being able to move rooms. After 3 nights we were then told "no we didn't say 2 more nights we said 3"! Eventually we were moved into a 3rd level beach front room which was lovely but did not at all make up for the horrible (lack of) customer service. Even this room was not worth the money we paid. We made a terrible choice and I could not possibly recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel on the official site looks like a cute little boutique hotel, however upon arrival it felt more like a hostel.

Our room by the pool on the ground floor felt damp upon arrival and the bed actually felt wet, we had to request the sheets to be changed as they were dirty, the lampshade by the bed was very mouldy, we asked for it to be moved further away from the bed, the room itself was very small and in the morning noisy as there were sun loungers right outside our door.

The bathrooms were modern but I could see little bugs around the sink and could hear the workers through the large vent which sounded like they were washing dishes and occasionally brushing their teeth!??

Overall the food was good after initially finding a hair in my food, the staff were apologetic and after this one incident the remainder of the food was pleasant.

The view of the ocean is beautiful and you can walk further down to the left and find Larger sandier areas.

I'm not sure we would have stayed here if we weren't with a large group of friends which for us made the experience.
