“The meaning of a Boutique Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2009

We had the opportunity to spend three of our honeymoon days at Aditya, and we can only say it is the perfect definition of a "boutique hotel".
Each room is unique; ours had a stunning seaview, with a huge bathroom completely open to the sea (yes! no window!!), with a delicious jacuzzi out of concrete.
The room was like 6 meter high, enormous, and full of details: furniture including antiques, nice space for having breakfast...
But the very best of the hotel was service. Sri Lankans are all polite and servicial, but hospitality and kindness was tremendous there.
Definitely, a must-go place to spend some relaxing time in Sri Lanka.

Stayed at Aditya last week on Wednesday night at the Sagara suite. Lovely rooms, great food, the service was the absolute best in Srilanka. Never ever seen such classy, unobtrusive service in Srilanka, way ahead of all the other hotels on the island, Hilton and Cinnamon are nowhere close. Beach was clean but the sea was way too rough. Disappointment 1 . No plunge pool, just a jacuzzi advertised as a plunge pool. Disappointment 2 . Lovely bathrooms and jacuzzi location but beware of the sicko perverts on the beach trying to hide amongst the trees and the shoreline and peep into the open bathrooms and jacuzzi areas. That was sad, the hotel needs to get this under control.

Although it has taken me a long time to write this review, I still had to write it. We visited Aditya as the first stop on our honeymoon. It was wonderful! After a long journey it was bliss to step into the cool foyer, be offered fresh juice and a garland of sweet-smelling flowers. We were even more delighted to be offered an upgrade to a sea view suite, which was an amazing room. The bed overlooked the balcony giving fantastic views of the ocean. The balcony had a plunge pool (cold but still nice!) and a mattress for lying on – great to have a coffee and watch the sunset.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the food delicious, the complex pretty and incredibly well maintained. Staff took great pride in keeping the place clean and it showed – the staff dust the air con unit each day, wipe under ornaments, lay out fresh bowls of flowers…the place is spotless. You always have fresh towels and these little touches make a difference and really make you feel special and looked after.

One of the best moments of the honeymoon was coming back to our room after a wonderful dinner (try the baked fish!) and when we opened the door there was music playing and tea lights all over the room. They were placed in coloured jars all over the room, the balcony and the bathroom and a little chocolate cake was waiting for us, with “congratulations” written on the plate! We also received complimentary massages.

This place is definitely worth a visit. We spent most of our time chilling by the pool. You can’t swim in the sea as the tides are so strong but you can paddle or go for a wander on the beach. We took a day trip to Galle but mostly enjoyed relaxing in the resort and I don’t think Galle centre offers anything worth staying there for.

One little thing that the hotel could do to improve is offer free wi-fi but you don't need the internet in a place like that!

Nowhere else lived up to the high standards that Aditya set and I would definitely recommend that you stay here if you are visiting the south of Sri Lanka.

Our stay at Aditya in the Suriya Prez Suite was truly a terrific experience. The general ambience, the panoramic aspects from the suite, the unobtrusive attentiveness of the stafff, the food and the location...they certainly all added up to an unique resort 'package' of international class. My wife and I consider this to be one of our best ever 'resort/hotel' experiences and many thanks to the Management and Staff. Well done!

We will be back!

We were just looking for somewhere comfortable in or around the Hikkaduwa area, as I had come down with a bug and just wanted clean and air-conditioned.

We couldn't find anywhere (even the 'best' in Hikkaduwa isn't up to much) until the cab driver suggested Aditya. From the minute we walked it, we were very pleased. Great staff, great setting and absolutely amazing rooms. We stayed in a sea-facing suite, which was a considerable size with a great view from the bed of the sea and palms. Outside on the balcony we had a day bed, tables and chairs and (best of all) our own private jacuzzi, large enough for six people. Add to that the open bathroom, which was a little disconcerting at first, sitting on the loo looking out across the beach, but after a whiles seems very natural!

Room service was terrific, minibar prices weren't too outrageous and the best thing is the hanging dolls. Quite scary spotting them swinging on a breezy evening.

My partner and i decided to get married in Sri Lanka, and chose the Aditya as the place to have our wedding...all i can say is that is was the Perfect choice.
This hotel delivered on every level!
The beach is rustic, private and gorgeous! (the sea is quite wavy, but warm and fun if you are a good swimmer!)
The hotel is beautiful, spacious, romantic and private.
The staff were fantastic! They we there to cater for our every need, without being intrusive.
The food was wonderful!
We spent 7 nights at the Aditya, and there were 17 of us in total, so we were virtually the only people staying there. This made it the perfect experience for us, as it was 4 days into our stay that we had our wedding. It was Amazing, everything was done to perfection, and ran like clockwork, without the stress of having it in the UK. (The whole family were sat by the pool the morning before the wedding...you can't get any more relaxed than that!)
I would recommend the Aditya as a honeymoon destination, or if you want a totally relaxing perfect experience. Most of all, i cannot imagine a more perfect place to have your wedding.
We cannot thank the team at the Aditya enough for ensuring that our trip was fantastic, and our wedding something that everyone will hold as an amazing memory forever!
Everything was simply perfect!
