Joseph and Kumari are wonderful hosts. They gave me excellent advice for onward travel and how to deal with tuk-tuk drivers and touts. The room is spacious and hot showers are available 24 hours a day.My only issue is the poor condition of the pavement from the main road to the hotel. The food is exceptionally good.

This Hotel situated in the hilly area just up from the beautiful Kandy lake has great views from the roof top terrace. This is the spot for breakfast overlooking the city and green leafy area around the lake. Joseph and Kumari the owners are very friendly and helpful with lots of information on what to see and do. The hotel itself is basic clean and comfortable, also like everything else in Sri Lanka not yet complete. The food is also very good and great value for money although it takes time to arrive so have a cold beer and enjoy the view. must mention Silva the help, a funny little guy always willing to help and it's worth the rupees just to see the smile on his face

Rooms were fine, clean with comfortable bed, hot water and a nice view of the hills if you get a room at the front.

It's a 15 minute walk to the lake and a 200rs tuk tuk ride back up the hill from the centre so whilst not central the location was ok.

It was difficult to find any staff during the two days we were here so couldn't say they were particularly helpful.

It wasn't an outstanding place but it was decent and we much preferred it to a place we tried in the centre for a similar price.

The hotel is based in the hill above the lake and is a 15-20 min walk to town but along the beautiful late! The hotel has breakfast - always a bonus. The staff are friendy and accomodating. Joseph went out of his way to make us pancakes even though they're not on the menu! Would definitely recommend this place

We had a wonderful time at the hostel. Joseph and Kumari were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. They arranged a free pickup from the train station (which we needed in the rain, arriving two hours late!) and a choice of rooms. The rooms were basic but comfortable with amazing views. The terrace is a lovely place to relax and the food was easily the best in Sri Lanka (home cooked from scratch). Don't be put off by the hotel being slightly out of town - it is a brief walk into town and a cheap tuk-tuk home again (if you don't fancy the hill!). Joseph helped us with ideas for activities in Kandy as well as heaps of local information about the culture. He also organised great value customised onward travel. Home from home!

We stayed twice here, at the start and end of our trip. First room was a bit rough, and bathroom was a wildlife sanctuary! second time room was much better, with a balcony overlooking the valley! restaurant is brilliant, really great food and views. the owner is a lovely man!

I had high hopes for this hotel, but it was too basic and threadbare. The bathroom was dark and dirty. The bed hard and musty. We really didn't want to stay.

The food however, is exceptional. The person who was present when we checked in was wonderful. He listened to our fussy requests and still came up with a superb Sri Lankan meal that we enjoyed immensely.
