Entrance wasn't grand as one enters from the back due to its hillside location, but " The Randholee" welcomes you as you alight from your vehicle.
Spacious airy rooms, bright with beautiful balconies overlooking the valley and the other mountains and an interconnecting balcony!!! watch out !! your next room guest can walk through to your room via the balcony!!!!
Driving to the Hotel is tricky one needs an experienced driver , its uphill with narrow roads and watch out for vehicles going downhill and the residents who live up, one has to manouvre through these narrow alleys to get to your destination. Our guide and driver Frank Alwis was excellent with his micro van Toyota Hiace and also familiar with this Hotel or else it will be most difficult.

Hotel has a beautiful infinity pool and the best view is from the restaurant , you feel the drop to the valley. The sandwiches were awesome, breakfast was not awesome like the sandwiches but great!

The downside of the hotel are their bathrooms, not well designed, getting into the tub is a juggle , you have to stand on a shaky stool and hop in. They had no shower caps as they had run out of stock we got the last one on request . Nice towel sets, face, hand and bath and got changed daily. The bed linen smelt fresh and aromatic. Small issues of water blockage got sorted out immediatedly.
We had a two night stay and three rooms, one thing was not right was that we got charged for a bar of Mars chocolate from the mini bar which none of us had consumed.!!!!!!!!!! .

Room Tip: choose rooms to the left as you enter, have a wide view...........

We stayed here as part of our tour of Sri Lanka. My wife and I agree this was the best hotel by far. Very clean and in perfect working order. The food was lovely, the staff great and the pool perfect to lounge by. No faults whatsoever.

I stayed at Randholee with my family for six nights while visiting relatives in the area and enjoying the sights in and around Kandy. The hotel offers great views and was a nice and calm place to return to every night. We really enjoyed the food (excellent dishes and they are happy to cook dishes that are not listed on the menu) and the fitness facilites. What really stood out, however, was the friendlyness of the staff. They were quick to organize tuk-tuks when needed (and ensure we got very reasonable fares) and they prepared a nice dinner (on the house) and birthday cake when two people in our party had their birthday.

Our travel company had made a mistake with the booking for our 1night stay in Kandy but, because it was low season, luckily there were quite a few rooms available. Bearing this in mind the staff coped well with our unexpected arrival and we had 2 lovely rooms with balconies overlooking the pool and spectacular view of the Kandy valley. There was a slight musty smell on the bed covers though and the room felt like it hadn't been used for a while. The hotel interior was very spacious and uncluttered with tasteful decor and furniture. We felt the food was quite good but the service average in the restaurant in the evening, but the buffet breakfast was very good. The pool area looked nice although we were not there long enough to try it out. All in all a very nice hotel.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with the view of the pool and the valley.

This hotel with amazing views is let down by so many other things. The approach road is a heavily rutted path which could so easily be fixed. The building itself, whilst relatively new, is not of the best quality. We paid $10 to upgrade our room to get the full view - a small price to pay. Breakfast was adequate but not good. Our view of this hotel was then significantly affected upon checkout. Firstly the minibars in both of our rooms were aggressively checked - my children saw the person even checking that the inner seal of the Pringles was still intact, whilst my wife had someone let themselves into our room when she was in the bathroom, even though he knew from a colleague and myself that she was still in there. We were in our car on the point of leaving when a member of staff knocked on the window and accused my children of stealing a hand towel. I was so furious at this accusation, which was not being retracted, that I immediately spoke to the manager. He apologised, but the bad taste still remains. In spite of this hotel's beautiful view, I cannot recommend it.

I stayed here with my Dad in June'13 and found everything about the hotel to be great. The view, the rooms, the private balcony in the room looking down the hills of Kandy. But all this is the stuff mentioned in every review and a lot of hotel properties around this budget are well built. What really stood out for me for the service, the manager spent time with us, was genuinely interested in hearing our feedback and improving the hotel. My family is also in the hotel business in India and coming from the hotelier trust me when I tell you these guys work hard to make your holiday great ! so dont risk it, go with Randholee and have a thoroughably enjoyable experience.

Room Tip: ask for balcony rooms overlooking the hills

I had the opportunity of staying at Randholee Luxury Resort in May 2013, the hotel, the staff, food was excellent. Staff were prepared to welcome us with a wheel chair as one of my colleagues had an accident while on tour and fractured her ankle.
The view from the restaurant and the rooms were breathtaking specially in the night with millions of little light bulbs lighting the mountain and transforming them as the night sky with stars.

Well kept and well managed property.

Room Tip: Luxury spec, good place to relax for a couple of days, not recommended for late check in and early c...
