“Ideal location, comfortable rooms and great service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2011

We had a lovely balcony room and it was lovely to sit in the mornings and evenings and enjoy the view over Kandy. There is a lot of traffic noise in Kandy itself, so we were really happy we chose to stay in a location just outside of town where we couldn't hear the traffic and horns honking. A three-wheeler ride from center of town to the hotel will run you about 100 to 200 rupees, which is about one or two US dollars, so if you get tired you can easily just ride instead of walking.
We did discover that there is a cultural show just next door at 5:30 in the evening so if you need absolute quiet it might disturb you. But we found it a hoot to hear the drumming and even got to wave at some of the gorgeous dancers on their breaks!

We did see some monkeys but they were not a problem at all. The staff and owner are very friendly and helpful. You can use the computer in the downstairs lobby to print out boarding passes etc for free and there is also free wifi. Evidently Nature Walk, although it's a fairly new hotel, is already very well known and highly regarded in Kandy, and even one of the travel agents in Colombo said I would love it, so we were happy we chose the right place. The bed was very good, the room smallish but large enough to walk comfortably around, and we had no problems with hot water at all. Breakfast is ok, nothing special, eggs fruit, toast and tea or coffee. Hopefully I will be back in Kandy some day and I will definitely choose Nature Walk again!

Room Tip: Go for the balcony!

We stayed at this guesthouse for 1 night on our 2 day tour to Kandy and Dambulla. What a great find. Nice location, friendly staff and beautiful views from their terraces (and our room also, but some rooms do not have such a nice views). The terraces can be used by any guests and we enjoyed very much couple of beers and some coffee whilst watching monkeys. The rooms are basic but clean and good size.
The Temple of Tooth is just 10 minutes walk away.
Breakfast is basic but filling. Bread, jam, eggs and tea or coffee.
If I was going to Kandy, I would definitely book this place for my stay.

Not really sure why they call themselves a resort as they don’t have any facilities that a resort should have like a pool. It is s a guesthouse, nothing more. It is a very good guesthouse with big, clean, sunny rooms. It is walking distance to the temple of the tooth and the city. We were able to see some monkeys nearby in the morning but most live around the temple. Breakfast is typical toast, jam, fruit and made to order eggs.

Lovely place to stay. Views are gorgeous (looking over the forests in the middle of a city? Kandy is cool!), rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely furnished, staff are lovely, breakfast is included in the price. I originally thuoght a 10/15 min walk to town may seem long, but it really isn't - you don't want to be right in the town centre as it's noisy and it really is a short walk or tuktuk ride. You can use the swimming pool at the hotel Thilanka next door too (for 200 rupees), which is a great bonus.

Only one slight minor - the laundry service is by item not weight, so I ended up paying nearly £10 for a small bag of laundry!

Great place to stay!

5 of us stayed - we had a triple room and a double with balcony. Beautiful rooms, very good service - breakfast included is really tasty! Watching the monkeys around the hotel was lovely! We had a driver so I can't really comment on location, but it was in a beautiful setting

Stayed here 3 nights in one of the back rooms (slightly cheaper but with no private balcony), the room and bathroom were very clean, although a little small and dark but with nice decor. This was no real problem as the communal balcony is fantastic and a quiet, dark room is ideal for sleeping! Set outside of Kandy, the 10-15min walk is no issue and provides a nice escape from the hectic pace of Kandy centre. The owner was especially helpful trying to sort out drivers and tours for us to go on and giving ideas of what there was to do and see in the local area. Breakfast was included, although you may have to fight the monkeys for the fruit! You WILL see monkeys here, sometimes more closely than you might wish!

The moment I landed there, I was skeptical wondering if its one of those seedy economical places but when I stepped out the impression in my mind is far far from it! Great staff, EXCELLENT rooms(more than value for many), not v far from Kandy tooth Temple, a stones throw away from Kandy culture dance place thou no shopping centers nearby!

Room Tip: Take the room with the balcony facing the road. These face the hill and hv a gr8 view!
