“Wonderful place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 February 2012

We cannot rate this hotel highly enough - spotless rooms, friendly and helpful staff (and extremely kind owner), beautiful view from the balcony (great to watch the bats in the early evening with a cold beer), and countless monkeys right outside the bedroom windows. We ended up staying here twice as long as we had planned and will definitely return next time we visit Sri Lanka.

We stayed two nights in Kandy and tried to book both nights here based on the reviews. We were not disappointed. Nature Walk is very peaceful and off the beaten path. It was an ideal location for us; easy walking distance to spend time in the city at the lake, at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth, Central Market, Gardens, or even go to The Pub nearby. Our room was perfect; very comfortable and we had a great night of sleep. The balcony provided stunning views of the surrounding areas and let us watch the animals roaming the area. The food available was also nice and enjoyable. This was certainly one of the nicer guesthouses we have stayed at in all of our travels.

In our mind, the best part of Nature Walk was the manager, Mr. Sarath, and his staff. He answered all of our questions beforehand over email, introduced himself to us when we arrived and helped take care of all of our transportation needs upon our arrival to the airport and our departure to other parts of the country. Mr. Sarath even made arrangements for us to stay at the Green Woods guesthouse down the street because there was no rooms available at Nature Walk on the first night we wanted to stay which turned out to be a nice place to stay as well (especially for people who are on more of a budget).

Overall, we would highly recommend Nature Walk and could not imagine staying anywhere else while in Kandy.

A very clean place in a peaceful location, but within walking distance of the lake & temple etc.We had an upstairs room with a balcony, from which we could watch monkeys playing & listen to the drumming performance in the hotel next door (which was much better than the drumming we heard in the Temple of the Sacred Tooth). The staff were very friendly & helpful & the food was good. My only criticism is that they didn't offer to pack us up a breakfast as we had an early start. We had paid for the breakfast, but obviously missed it. Other places had given us a packed breakfast when we had an early start. As the train broke down & was 2 hours late, a packed breakfast would have been very welcome.

Our stay was overall very nice, the staff were extremely helpful with our questions and always available. My only complaint would be thin walls, so that any early risers were well heard throughout the upstairs area. Everything else though was set to high standards with beautiful views from the top balcony.

Would definitely recommend to others.

Our room was good - clean, amazing views. This place is basic enough, but looked like it had all the necessary things to make a very comfortable stay. That was until we got into bed that night! Be warned, if you do not like very hard beds, this place is not for you. It was the hardest bed I'd ever slept in, and had an unfortunate creak, which meant you woke yourself up in the middle of the night (constantly). Despite the incredible views when I woke, we had so little sleep for the first 2 nights, we eventually gave up and booked a different hostel for the 3rd night. We were exhausted!

Ps - breakfast is not included, which isn't made incredibly clear.

We stayed three nights at this place and it was our favourite in Sri Lanka: great view, quiet, clean and stylish. We had a nice room with a balcony to sit on. From there you get a good chance to study the social life and curiosity of monkeys. ; you get a glimpse of dancers awaiting their performance, because one of Kandys faomous dancing places ist right next to the guesthouse. And last but not least the owner Sarath Kumara and his staff are real nice and helpful.

We traveled Sri lanka for six weeks, 10 days we stayed at the Nature walk, no, it was not the plan, but since we arrived Kandy at the first week and found the Nature walk we couldn't leave…
Nature walk was by far our favorite guesthouse in Sri lanka J
The place is spotless shine and the staff is welcoming and sweet.
Above all that, our kids, 4.5 and 7.5 year old boys became best friends with the owner boys. So we had a great spaces room, view to the jungle (beautiful birds flying around and tons of monkeys) and lots of activities Kandy has to offer, can you blame us for staying J
