The ambiance of the temple was lovely. We enjoyed seeing the families and worshippers arriving with their offerings and the ceremonial part downstairs. Our guide then took us to the area where the relic is brought out. The viewing area for worshippers and visitors is quite small and as it got closer to the relic being exhibited it got to be a dangerous squash such that my husband pulled me out for fear of being suffocated.
The majority of those were tourists and not worshippers. It seems so completely wrong that those who have come as pilgrims, for what may be a "once in a lifetime" trip, are elbowed out by arrogant, uncaring tourists, who will push everyone out of the way to get their snap and showing the minimum of respect..
