Frankly speaking, there is nothing terrible about this place. The hostess was nice and friendly. However the room is a bit less than basic, in terms of facility. We got a room with no outside window, but only small window in the showeroom. The water pressure of shower was too weak and made it difficult to have good shower in a (relatively) cold December night. The room and the shower were both a bit wore out. I don't think this kind of place worth of the money I paid.
We had dinner here but the food was delivered from outside, not prepared by the guesthouse itself. So I'm not sure if I should complain that the dinner was not good at all (it was my 4th time in Sri Lanka, and I considered it one of the worst meal I had.
Overall, it's a very basic place and I don't feel it worth of the money I spent

Stayed for 2 nights whilst in Kandy. Beautiful hotel and setting and very attentive staff. Room was clean and very quiet. We also enjoyed an excellent evening meal there, probably the best during our stay in Sri Lanka. Wonderful host with excellent service from point of arrival to our very early morning departure. Breakfast was served in the beautiful gardens complete with monkeys.

Room Tip: Had a room set just off the communal lounge entered by stepping stones over an indoor pool containing fish. Lovely setting and very peaceful.

The room at this B&B was excellent value for money. The house is large and well-lit and the room we got was comfortable with an attached loo. The house's garden is simply lovely and lots of guests would sun themselves there through the afternoon.

The B&B is a 20 minute walk to the back gate of the Temple of the Tooth and a 30 minute walk to the Queen's hotel - but both timings involve taking a short-cut with a few steps up and down. The main access by car/tuktuk is impossible to find because there is absolutely no sign! Turn left from Ampitiya road into a really tiny dirt road (look out for the Hotel Majestic sign) - and the B&B is right at the end of that road. The excellent Kandy Garden Cafe is a few minutes away.

Final verdict: brilliant value for money.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a double bed so you might need to specifically request for one if that's what you want.

From our arrival Wasarthi was fantastic. She catered for all our needs. She was very knowledgeable and provided lots of local information. She arranged all appropriate taxis or Tuk Tuks and even haggled the best deal for the transfer to our next destination. However, above all her food was incredible. We had breakfasts in the beautiful garden and her evening curry and rice was to die for. Always for or five curries with popadoms and sambals. Wasathi tried to produce different curries but also asked if we had favorites to reproduce.
This is a very simple guest house, but suited us perfectly.

We arrived at Colombo airport following a delay and picked up by Joseph the driver which Kandy green view had arranged. Service and the drive to the B&B was smooth which was welcome after such a long flight from the UK. We arrived to a breakfast and a warm welcome by Wassathi, then a quick 40 winks before heading into Kandy for the afternoon.
What a beautiful place Kandy is, do not miss it on your visit to Sri Lanka. We used Joseph the following day in his tuk tuk for a trip to pinnewalla and an overview of all the local attractions, the gem factory, the mask factory, the Buddha which towers over Kandy. Joseph was excellent value at $25 dollars for the day! The following day, Wassathi arranged for Joseph to take us by car to sigariha and dambulla. Easily to do in one day and not to be missed.
Kandy Greenview is in an ideal location to walk into Kandy at the end of the lake and only 20 mins to the temple of the tooth. Wassathi runs it well with a lady who cleans and gardens for her. Breakfasts were always prompt, but never rushed and we really felt like we were at home from the moment we arrived. On our last night, we bought a take away to eat at home, and Wassathi insisted on serving it to us. We didnt realise she apparently does an amazing sri lankan veggie curry, but had left it to late to order this and felt she had done enough for us during our stay.
The rooms overall are very clean, large, but a little tired. There is evidence that the family Wassathi runs the Inn for have lived there some time and have now moved away to pastures new, and that makes for a very warm feeling around this family home.
The view at breakfast as you see the birds flying is simply outstanding.

Do not miss a trip to Helga's folly. 1/4 mile from the Inn and very interesting. If you purchase any drink, you are welcome to have a look around for free!
