We would highly recommend a stay at this friendly, family run guesthouse that's only a 300 rupee tuk tuk journey from Kandy centre. It's set in a beautiful location next to a forest and provides a tranquil escape from the bustling city centre. The owners are kind, gracious and hospitable and go the extra mile to ensure the comfort of their guests. We stayed in a double room with ensuite on the first floor and although there was no air con, the quality fan ensured a good nights sleep. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced thus, we would recommend opting for evening meals. Although they've only been running the guesthouse for a short time it feels like they've been in the business for years and with their excellent service we're sure their popularity will continue!

i booked my room last minute and plan to stay in Kandy for 1 night before heads to Hatton and Ella. apparently i am reluctant to book as the house is not in the middle of the city of Kandy,

The moment i step in to Hanthana Holiday Rooms. i fall in love with the house, the house is so lovely and the environment is so natural, windy and cooling. it is like back to London in Spring.

Mr and Mrs Ananda is a very humble, sincere polite, friendly and helpful people, staying in the house, you can feel their warm and sincere hospitality. They stay with his youngest son, a very good and polite teenage boy.

This is not in the city of Kandy, but is an easy 300 rupee tuk-tuk ride from the town and they have introduce me a trust worthy, reliable Tuk Tuk Driver- Dasa. he is a simple and sincere guy.

The rooms are clean and friendly service. i had home cooked dinner together with other travelers from Germany, UK, France and Spain.

Mr..Ananda will try his best to make all sort of arrangement as requested. He help me to get the Tuk Tuk Driver to buy me a train ticket to Ella without additional charge. ( both of them are nice ).

unfortunately i had bad food poisoning in kandy, vomiting and diarrhea. , i could see Mr and Mrs Ananda were worried and concern if i am fit to travel to Ella. they treat the guests like their own family members.

i am very happy get the chance to know Mr and Mrs Ananda. It's really a memorable experience.
I felt myself as at home. I would definitely suggest the place for all my friends.

i would like to stay at their place again if i get the chance to visit Kandy.

This is a really value for money home stay with arelaxed atmosphere and decent domestic Sri Lankan food. Hosts were very helpful with travel advice and room was clean & comfortable. They even had beer! Only drawback was no en-suite. Peaceful and gorgeous views of flowers & forest from terrace. Good wi fi and good kaugh with other guests . We'd certainly stay again.

My girlfriend and I first planed to stay in this guest house 1 night. We quickly decided to stay 2 more nights!

The guest house owner is extremely friendly and helpfull. Enjoy late discussions at night with him!

Dinners were delicious and tasty! However, breakfast could be improved.

Moreover, this is our first guest house we really felt at home! And you are not considered as a "walking ATM"!

Rooms are ver clean and the entire guest house is beautiful and quiet, which is a big advantage in a noisy city like Kandy!

Choosing another place for your stay in Kandy would be a mistake!

I started my trip here in Sri Lanka. Ananda is a very friendly, helpful fellow. The house is lovely and I love the fact you can enjoy the porch, living room and gardens. This is not in the city of Kandy, but is an easy 300 rupee tuk-tuk ride from the town and it's worth the view of the forest . . . and quiet. I enjoyed my 3 nights here and would stay again :)

Vety friendly & helpful family. Excellent home cooked meals. A little far from town for quick journeys or exploring. Rooms and bathroom were clean but bed was a bit uncomfortable. Beautiful settin on edge of forest reserve.
