Good location, quiet but not far up the hill or far from the road. Pleasant owner + staff. Basic breakfast. Very friendly, playful skinny cat with broken leg was a hit with some guests (including this one). Hope the owner takes care of it.

Room Tip: Maybe attempt to get on one of the upper floors - the rooms on the first floor flank the kitchen / s...

Arrived late and left early the next morning so we didn´t have time to check around the neighborhood, but it was a quiet area away from all the stressing and noisy streets.
Found this place by accident while trying to get a room at the place next door- but it was full. I believe It´s called Anna Shanti. But the night was saved when suddenly the owner of Vino Villa stood on the street telling us he had a room for us! (A man with contagious laughter and high sence of service)
We got the room and private balcony shown on the pictures above the reception.

The room was clean and it had AC. The bathroom was big and brand new. A big plus for me who pay attention to small details: -The toiletpaper was folded to a V-shape. :)
We were told the whole house was renovated 5 months ago. It used to be a deserted house taken over by monkeys.
In the breakfast-kitchen we could use the big fridge and drink from the watercooler, free of charge. We also got a welcome-drink on the chared balcony and waterbottles on the room.
If I remember right, the price was around 5500-6000Rs (about 300SEK, 45USD)
Good value for that price.
A personal thanks to the owner and the chef!

A little family boutique hotel which runs by one of the family members. He is very helpfull and taking care ( some times too much..) of his customers well being. The location is in walking distance to the lake. Breakfast is fair . As a whole the accommodation worth the money...

We spend a couple of nights in this friendly guesthouse 2 minutes walk from the eastern end of Kandy Lake. The room was spotless with a pleasant balcony with chairs, table and a good view to the monkeys roaming the nearby gardens and roofs in the morning. First of all the service was excellent. We were treated with the, fruit and cold water whenever we asked. They even send a man on foot for cold beers for us (no license of their own). When we left, a friend passing by drove us to the railway station for free. All for a very reasonable price (we booked at the door...). Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Go for the rooms on the upper floor.

Fantastic beautiful house from in and out, wonderful garden in front of the house. The friendliest owner ever! Offered us tea and we had long interesting conversations, very helpful. Most beautiful and cosy rooms in Sri Lanka, delicious breakfasts. Excellent location on a mountain, good to take walks to city centre, but a private quiet place surrounded by nature, singing birds. We loved our stay and suggest that place to everyone visiting SRi Lanka!
