The renewed hotel is nice (March 2014). Room was comfortable, WiFi works very well as surprisingly in every hotel in Sri Lanka. But the hotel staff is absolutely clueless about service. In the hotel room one of the drinking glasses has not been washed. When you walk down to the restaurant the hotel staff is making snide remarks about you to the spa girls sitting outside their spa. In the restaurant it is close to impossible to get any kind of service. Even asking where the washroom is close to impossible. When you ask for teriyaki chicken you only get two small pieces. It feels like it is rationed. Overall the service ruined the experience in the hotel and I will not go back before the staff is properly trained in their chores and they have been received extensive training in customer service. The attitude is so bad that it must come down from the management. Looking down at customers is not the way for repeat business.

We enjoyed just one night here but were really impressed with the hotel, the staff, and the food. Very clean and quiet, with comfortable mattresses and attentive staff. Definitely would recommend this place.

Room Tip: Rooms on back side of hotel overlook hillside garden.

We stayed here for a night after visiting Kandy. The hotel is in a peaceful location outside the city, and our balcony had nice views across the pool and towards the river and trees beyond. Very pretty.
The pool is really lovely, and the staff are attentive. Rooms are spacious and beds comfortable.(We also had the best example of "towel art" I have ever seen in our room - see photo!)
On the downside, even though this is a brand new hotel, our shower cubicle leaked badly. We did report this when we left.
Also, I was not impressed with the food - dinner was a buffet and the quality,which was pretty average, is not substitute for quantity.
Travellers may also wish to know that the hotel is government owned.

We only spent one night here, but had the best nights sleep of our whole trip. The room had excellent air conditioning and very comfy beds. Clean rooms and friendly staff.
The buffet breakfast and dinner was full of choice with something for everyone.
We did not use the pool, but it looked clean and welcoming.
Would recommend if you are in Kandy and need a base.

A beautiful small hotel with lots of smiling faces. the hospitality is really good. Sri Lanka is a place full of hospitality as we hear and now we know it for sure. the restaurant added few pounds to my weight due to its richness and flavor. It was so good. I tried to experiment all the types of food but I couldn't because the range is high. I must say about the Rooms are simply awesome.toilets and linens are so clean. Comfortable beds with a super sleeper effect. Didn't use the spa. Pool is small. But enjoyed a lot. Thank you very much and Good luck.. I will definitely recommend to my fellow Indian friends about this hotel... Awesome Times

Room Tip: always go for the 4th floor rooms
