The locality of Cinnamon tree is ideal as it can be an end destination or on route to the Hills. The place it self has a sense of peace & tranquility when you drive in. We loved the architecture of this old style 'home' which has lovely verandahs, windows & open spaces.
Rooms are spacious & beautifully done with modern bathrooms. The wooden floored 'attic' room is a special feature and this room is ideal for a family or for a group of friends.
The place has a small, yet a friendly, attentive & personalised team which is ideal.
As we were on route, we only had breakfast. This was perhaps one of the best 'local' cuisines we have had. Excellent roti :)
Lots of places to visit & see when you are based at Cinnamon Tree. The Botanical gardens, Temple of the tooth relic, a beautiful & scenic university drive, River baths, intriguing market place, Queens hotel for tea, walks around the Kandy lake, perhaps a bit further but a must to Ambakke (lovely wooden carvings at this temple), & places which specialise in brassware & traditional Kandyan jewellery etc.
