“Good value and great meal”

We stayed for one night at the Sharon Inn and were very happy overall with the accommodation and the service we received.
Our room was a good size and although it was nothing modern or fancy, it was perfectly adequate for what we required and very clean.
We enjoyed dinner out in the garden that evening, which was very enjoyable - a typical Sri Lankan curry which was very tasty and there was plenty of it!
After dinner Faiesz arranged a tuk tuk for us to go to Helga's Folly and he was also able to offer recommendations on how best to spend the short time we had in Kandy (we were leaving at lunchtime the following day). We found both Faiesz and Sue polite and helpful.

Very nice room with balcony and a very good, hot shower!
Owner not very supportive: He could not provide information about public transport, seems to be more interested in selling special taxi arrangements
It is OK, but next time, we would look for a different hotel.

The place is Top Choice on Lonely Planet Guide but I couldnt see why... The room was spacious but dull and without any view... The service is not great, I had guests with me on dinner and they insisted on taking their names while we were still eating... It is over-priced compared with other places I have stayed in in Sri Lanka...

Despite our guide book saying all rooms have a view, ours didn't. Other than that a lovely stay at a reasonably priced guest house. German owner which meant asking lots of questions in English was very easy. Fantastic Sri Lankan curry dinner that they put on too. The whole place is absolutely spotless as well and the local staff were very sweet.

Clean rooms & cheap prices BUT extremely rude service! Discussed with other guests and they shared the same feeling: the owners were really, really rude. Actually, I would have preferred if the rooms were less tidier if the service was at least a bit less hostile. I've never (- and boy, I've travelled a lot) felt myself so unwelcome as in this place and wanted to leave the hostel immediately, but unfortunately I had to stay there for 3 nights. Very dissapointed and will never recommend this place to anybody.

Me and my brother arrived in Kandy via the train, and we were promptly picked up a tuk-tuk sent by Sharon Inn. We were warmly greeted by Faiesz and shown to our room. The room was a good size and very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable and the room had AC and a fan. The bathroom was outside of the room, but this was not an issue. The bathroom was very nice, the shower was very good. The room was spacious and the most comfortable that we experienced in Sri Lanka. Every night Sharon Inn runs a buffet with a wide selection of Sri Lankan food. This is where I feel in love with Sri Lankan food. The food is superb, providing a great taste of Sri Lankan food. The service at Sharon Inn was superb, we felt very welcome during our stay and Faiesz helped us arrange a driver to Nuwara Eliya along with accommodation for Nuwara Eliya and Uda Walawe. Overall, Sharon Inn was the best place I stayed in Sri Lanka, the service was brilliant, the food was excellent and the rooms extremely comfortable. I would wholeheartedly recommend Sharon Inn for anyone travelling to Kandy.

Me and my friend (two girls in our twenties visiting SL for two weeks) booked Sharon Inn after reading about it in our Lonely Planet. We booked two weeks in advance and from the sounds of it, if you don't book here, you don't get a reservation. We stayed right after the Kandy Festival and paid 7600lkr b&b per night.
The hotel is family run and this makes it feel that much more comfortable/homely. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. It is located a 5 minute walk up the hill from the lake, meaning you can walk to the temple of the tooth in 15 minutes. We also walked to the food market in the centre of Kandy, which I would highly recommend.
The room was great - one of the most comfortable beds I slept in during our entire trip! The room was spotlessly cleaned and fresh towels provided everyday. The a/c system was brand new and very efficient - we set it to the lowest temperature, which turned our room into a temporary freezer. The hotel has good wifi, which is located on the second floor, so reached our room.
The thing that stands out the most about this hotel is the curry buffet for dinner - hands down the best curry I ate in SL. The food is made with freshly bought produce from the market and everything tasted wonderful. It may seem slightly overpriced (900lkr) but it was worth every penny!
Even though it cost slightly more than we paid elsewhere, overall we really enjoyed our stay at Sharon Inn and would highly recommend it.
N.B apparently they are in the process of building a roof top pool
