We spent two weeks there in April 2013. It's near the Kandy Lake and Temple of the Tooth, very convenient to travel around. The open-air canteen was a fantastic place to relax and chat. Food was very good. We found the staff really friendly and the days there extremely memorable. Will go there in the future.

I can only say I agree with all the negative comments .The owners are pleasant and bright why don't they accept the criticisms and fix this potentially very good hotel?
The position is good ,the restaurant area is great they have a good base to work from.

I visited this hotel in Jan 2013, My husband choose the location and it was indeed a treat for me~ It was clean room and the wach rooms had hot water and clean too~we only stayed one night, but we ordered dinner El-Carte and Standard Breakfast.. The staff was very friendly and supportive, Specially travelling with a small child is not an easy task..
Dinner was served with an action food station, where they cooked different diches using any vegi we choose!!
Simple Breakfast had western and traditional dishes, such as toast, eggs, noodles, rice and curry with fruits or tea to blend in...
Hot water was provided on request to make milk for my baby too...
There was a nice clean pool, which i deared to get in due to the cold water.. but it was quite inviting to have a dip!! wink...

Standard rooms are spacious but without great views.
The washbasin in the toilet opens in the bath area which makes a nasty experience.
Lousy towels and almost nil toiletries in wash room.
Hot water all the time.
Small conventional TV doesn't contain remote and very few channels.
Dim lighting makes you feel very uncomfortable at night.
AC effective, comfortable beds and sufficient space to keep your luggage.
View from the rooftop restaurant is good and the breakfast served there also contains variety like Dosas, breads, omelettes, noodles, juices, tea & coffee, etc.
Location??? OK if you have your own vehicle or else you have to climb the hill.
Lousy wifi connection and no elevators.
Deepti - the staff was very helpful in arranging a room for us at the time of check-in.
Overall an old hotel with bare minimum facilities. They need to upgrade their rooms.
If you are on a budget, this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: Standard rooms doesn't have views of the mountain. Deluxe rooms on the upper floors are supposed...

Good: restaurant (rooftop); views of the city but not the lake. Location quite decent, about 10 mins walk from the eastern edge of the lake which means 30 mins from city centre. Food okay, breakfast choices are good for the price. Staff is very helpful.

Mixed/disappointing: quality of the Standard rooms and the wider maintenance level. TV and AC is promised but reception admitted that not all rooms have TV (room 11, lowest floor, has neither this nor AC). Rooms are spacious and clean enough, and bathroom with good hot shower, but all a bit too bare-bones. Even the pool (small but refreshing) has no working shower, just lots of unfinished maintenance work to the side as the whole lowest floor has.

Room Tip: Avoid lowest floor standard rooms, these are worst
