These carved Buddhas are huge. The stone is beautiful. You'll need to dodge the cheeky monkees to get to the statues. The monkees will steal from you. Shoes will need to be removed to get close to the statues.

It's not often that you may view a standing and a reclining Buddhas at the on location. These beautifully stone carved Buddhas are very worthy of a visit as evidenced by the many people also viewing when I visited this site in Polonnaruwa.
Once again you need to remove your shoes to enter the area close to the reclining Buddhas.
