We were very comfortable in there. Staff is friendly, room is great, nice pool and spectacular views. Seen wild elephants at night was the mainly reason to choose this hotel ( we didn't want a safari) and finally we saw the elephants around 8pm. Lovely stay for us.

This hotel has an amazing setting it has wild elephants at the end of the garden and a beautiful lake. The rooms were clean and comfortable, unfortunately the wifii was rubbish even though there was a modem in the room. Breakfast was lovely fruit and cooked but only 5 baked beans. Staff very friendly and helpful. Overall a great stay with an amazing experience having elephants next door.

Room Tip: Premier room were great overlooking the elephants and the pool.

Upon arrival we were greeting by a loan male elephant who was grazing just outside our room. It was just an incredible experience, no one was there with us (which is quite something for Sri Lanka). The rooms and food were ok, the pool was swimmable when we were there.
They need to do an overhaul of the yard area and get rid of all the concrete table and chairs and create a landscaped area. The cyclone fence needs to go as it looks crap but I understand that they have to keep elephants out.

Room Tip: The ones that are on the lake to maximize elephant viewing!

We booked a night at the hotel following the reviews and the score on bus trip advisor and booking.com. On arrival we were basically shocked. Rooms look like the ones in guest houses, the water of the swimming pool it was definitely not swimmable, it was impossible to see through it, the so-called terrasse has no privacy, The terrasse of the restaurant is Dusty and uninviting. It was so far from what was promised that we didn’t stay. Moreover the hotel is still being built. I definitely don’t understand how they can charge so much for rooms.

Wow, what a location, elephants on the lakeside and a beautiful sunset. Although basic, the hotel is lovely, the food in the restaurant tasty and the staff exceptionally friendly.
It was great for us but may not suit everyone, seeing the elephants made it very special.
