Not perfect but very good.
The room is ok and the food as well.
The main reason of going there is really to feel in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nature. It's a relaxing place with nice swimming pool and a very beautiful garden.

We chose this hotel as a stop over hotel on our tour of Sri Lanka. Well we couldn't of asked for more. A lovely setting, tranquil and relaxing after a day of touring. Great pool and gardens with a view over to lions rock in the distance. Rooms were little bungalows with verandas, an interesting outdoor shower with mosquito mesh over the roof so no creepy craw lies could get in, the main part of the bathroom is under cover. The room was clean with air con and a comfy bed. Staff on hand if you needed help. The restaurant was excellent, a good choice of food from Western to Sri Lankan , would recommend the curries, they were fantastic, not too hot, catering for the western pallet.

Kassapa Lions Rock hotel is conveniently located in the cultural triangle and in the village of Kimbissa, just 15 minutes drive to the Sigiriya Rock, 50 minutes drive to Polonnaruwa, 50 minutes to Anuradhapura, 1 hour 30 minutes to the town of Trincomalee, (Timing is approximate and depends on the vehicle you are travelling in, commercial vehicles will take longer due to speed limits). From Digampathaha junction it will approximately cost LKR 150/- 200/- by tuk tuk.

Standing in the middle of paddy fields and vegetable patches, the hotel has a direct view of the Sigiriya Rock Fortress and Pidurangala, continuous moderate winds keep the open restaurant cool throughout the day and night, the 51 rooms most of them are individual chalets are located scattered in the property but not far away from basic amenities like the bar, restaurant, front office etc...

The rooms are charm and well decorated to suit the environment, the open roof shower is an attraction altogether, rooms are provided with basic amenities like, mineral water, tea / coffee making facilities and shower / bath amenities. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning and ceiling fans for ultimate comfort.

The food is excellent with a wide range of selection even for vegetarians, prepared by experienced star class chefs. The staff is friendly and very efficient, prompt service by them was amazing.

Even the chauffeurs are provided with very comfortable rooms away from the main cluster with very good food (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner).

Further the rooms are priced at unbelievable and unbeatable rates which is value for money.

I recommend this property who wish to go on a very relaxing holiday and who would stay minimum of at least two nights to savor the hospitality and serenity of the location.

Room Tip: All rooms are conveniently located.

Located in a great area to explore all of the areas attractions. You can see the rock on the distance as you laze by the pool. Rooms are little cabins spread around the property. The gem store is also good value as well.

We are a family with three young children and stayed at Kassapa Lions Rock for 5 nights whilst we visited various places in the cultural triangle. It was great to return back after a visit to cool off in the pool - the children loved the pool.

The food was fantastic (with a great variety to cater for all tastes from young to old) and the staff were really friendly and kind - they really enjoyed having children around them. The rooms were perfect and we were sad to leave. We highly recommend this hotel.

One of the things we did was to go for evening walks along the road - it was a fantastic place to see the sunset, see local wildlife, and speak with the local people who live in Diganpantaha (the nearest village).
