“Great place”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

After a long and hot day on the rock and around, this is the perfect place to chill out and have some nice food with a tasty fruit juice while watching the people passing by. The writings on the walls tell you the rest. Avocado salad and rotti are very good! Staff was friendly and when we left they gave us some bananas for the way home.

“LOVELY!!!”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

the people that host this restaurant are so warm and loving! Wonderfull people and delicious food! We stayed there for 5 days when normally we planned to stay only one! We ate every day at Ahinsa restaurant , we also got cookinglessons from the owners wife! It was an encounter to never forget!
They also host a small 'treeguesthouse'. We were the first that slept there, its amazing!!
the kottu roti, the salads, but most of all the curries are REALLY GOOD!!!!!
We can advise this to everybody who is in de neighbourhood.

“Bad service, bad food”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

Placed order at 8pm (1 roti and 1 fruit salad, not hard). Asked for both together. .. 9pm the lady placed the order with the chef (??) ... 9.15 received roti. 9.45 received fruit salad. If it takes 1 hr 45 to make a fruit salad then I would NEVER order a curry here. You would get it for breakfast.

“Love The Avocado Salad”
Reviewed 27 February 2014

The avocado salad is the standout here, in my opinion, though the other dishes are good too. It has lots of fresh avocado and tomato, thin slivers of red onion, and a nice vinaigrette dressing. The atmosphere is nice (I've had both lunch and dinner here), the family is welcoming, the prices are reasonable and there's free wifi too. What's not to love?

“Small restaurantclose to the Lion Rock”
Reviewed 4 February 2014

Ahinsa is a small restaurant close to the Lion Rock directly on the main street in Sigiriya. Friendly service.

We went there twice. We first tried the tasty banana roti and the coconut roti (this is a dessert which is not very clear on the menu).

The second time we choose a curry - taste was good - unfortunately we had to wait very long (40' instead of the 15 minutes that they told us). Since we agreed to have a jeep safari later that day, we only had 10 minutes left to finish our dish. If, for some reason, it will take longer to prepare the dish, please inform in advance.
