“A pleasant place to stay”
Reviewed 12 April 2013 via mobile

This hotel is well located for visiting Dambulla and Sigiriya and still has a great view of "Lion Rock" from its pool area. The resort is in a very basic area but is self-contained and very acceptable for the price. The food is a conventional buffet but with adequate choice. However, the Sous Chef is very friendly and will cook you a special dish if requested. Rooms are plain and basic, but comfortable. A good place to stay.

We stayed here two night during our island tour. Everything is nicely maintained, nice rooms with a bit of an ´old´ bath room, but well functioning. The lobby and the restaurant make a 90 degrees angle and are open building. Food of excellent quality with friendly personnel. Definitely, a place to visit. The only weak point is the number of available sun beds.

Wished we had stayed longer. You had a feeling you were in the heart of the countryside.Lovely grounds, imaginatively themed rooms, attentive staff, big gardens, handy for Sigiriya and Dambulla, food was OK not outstanding but overall experience was good.

Room Tip: People are in cottages/bungalows on a fairly large site, quite jungly with good birdwatching and monk...

We stayed here for 3 nights and really can't fault the place. The staff are friendly attentive and polite. Rooms comfortable and air con works perfectly.

The food is very tasty though if your not a big eater don't go for the buffet option at dinner, you may as well order off the menu - though if you are anything like us you will always end up with the buffet (we like to try all the things available)

Sigiriya Rock fortress is 5 mins away and one of the national parks is close for elephant spotting!

All round first class experience at this resort - we even liked the pool!

This was our first hotel which we had stayed in on our tour of Sri Lanka. It's a fairly long drive from the airport but feels very welcoming when you get there.

Restaurant and bar are central to the hotel and the rooms are all little bungalows dotted around the site. Our room was about a 5 min walk away and a tip would be to bring a torch (ours broke)!! As the paths are very dark. Rooms are a bit basic and not quite the standard layout but they were functional and worked for us as we weren't going to spend much time there. The only big negatives are that the rooms were very very dark and the air conditioning very noisy.

That said we had a very happy stay here - the rock is beautiful and a good tip if you can is to take an elephant safari in Hurulu national park - very special place.

Really enjoyed our stay in the Sigiriya Village. We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms which are well equipped, spacious and comfortable (slightly further away from the reception/restaurant part of the hotel).
The buffet food was delicious, very fresh and plenty of variety for both dinner and breakfast.
The pool area can get crowded and there is a lack of loungers - only a dozen or so for such a big hotel. But if it quiet, the monkeys take over. Climbing all over the loungers (they don't seem afraid of anyone!) and in and out of the pool - I wouldn't advise accidentally swallowing any of the water from the pool.
The staff were extremely helpful and the hotel had a friendly atmosphere. Only one small issue with the cleanliness of the bathroom. The rainfall shower was lovely but would have been improved if there wasn't a rogue hair that stayed with us throughout our three night stay.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms are very comfortable and seem to have the facilities that some rooms lack (having read...
