Stayed for four nights at Sigiriya Village, after about 4 years. It has not changed much. The staff, was all most friendly and courteous. We did nto see a single gloomy face among them.

The food was excellent, with a variety of Sri Lankan traditional dishes, and also western options for those foreign tourists who wanted something from home for a change.

Even when the restaurant was packed, the staff still paid individual attention to each guest.

Rooms were nice and clean with the cottages sufficiently apart to give privacy.

Room Tip: all the cottages are equally good, but pick one closer to the restaurant and lobby if you dont like...

Check in started with an argument about our room rate for a booking.com reservation they had no record of. Reception staff were cold and unhelpful.

Our room was average - dated decor, but clean and acceptable for a discount style accommodation. However, there limited to no hot water and the ac broke. After a late evening room swap we had ac again.

Food was average - a fish curry was awful, compete with scales. Pool side and room service drink and beverage service was quite good however they doubled-dipped on tax charges - adding tax onto prices that p, according titheir menus, already included taxes. Recommend eating out where possible.

Overall recommendation - look at every other alternative hotel first.

Great service, great food, great pool, cheeky monkeys. Stayed in deluxe family room, really nice with king and single. Again one of the few that were happy to have four in the room.

Fairly pricey but would Thoroughly recommend and the driver we had told us his lodgings and food were good too.

My husband and I started our tour of Sri Lanka here. It really is a lovely hotel. The grounds are excellent and very well maintained. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and perfectly adequate. The restaurant is extremely pleasant and there is a plentiful choice of good food. We found the staff to be very friendly and always ready to please. It is very worthwhile spending a little time walking around the village to see the care and thought which has been put into it.
Before visiting here, I read one or two negative reviews, and really cannot understand what people expect of holiday accommodation. Okay, maybe a little bit of a revamp here and there, but let's face it, we are renting the accommodation, not looking to buy it! The only criticism I would make is that there could be better lighting around the site. We cannot wait for our return visit to Sri Lanka, and Sigiriya Village will definitely be on the itinerary.

Room Tip: I asked for a room close to the restaurant and reception, just for convenience. It would be a goo...

My wife and I have recently returned from a two week tour of Sri Lanka . It was one of the best holidays we've ever had . The highlight of the tour was our three night stay at Sigiria Village . It is a tranquil retreat after visiting the many local attractions and beautiful countryside .
The jungle setting is stunning . The accommodation is very comfortable . The staff are extremely professional , welcoming and helpful .
We were particularly impressed by the presentation , quality and range of food on offer in the restaurant .

The sous chef , Mr Samarakoon Banda , clearly takes a great deal of pride in his well-run restaurant and goes to great lengths to ensure that his guests are happy .

Highly Recommended !!
We'll stay longer next time .

This hotel is well located for visiting Dambulla and Sigiriya and still has a great view of "Lion Rock" from its pool area. The resort is in a very basic area but is self-contained and very acceptable for the price. The food is a conventional buffet but with adequate choice. However, the Sous Chef is very friendly and will cook you a special dish if requested. Rooms are plain and basic, but comfortable. A good place to stay.

We stayed here two night during our island tour. Everything is nicely maintained, nice rooms with a bit of an ´old´ bath room, but well functioning. The lobby and the restaurant make a 90 degrees angle and are open building. Food of excellent quality with friendly personnel. Definitely, a place to visit. The only weak point is the number of available sun beds.
