“Relaxing place”

Very impressed with clean spacious cabana. Nice big unobtrusive mosquito net over bed that allowed you to work light and fan switch on bedhead. Restaurant food great, chef keen to please when he cooked our crab asking our preferences. Staff friendly and attentive. New treehouse being built that looks really good.

- spacious, clean cabanas with power shower.
- tasty breakfast and good selection of dishes in the restaurant facing the ocean.
- very friendly staff, good vibe and candle lights in the evening.
- quiet stretch of beach running up and down coast.
- we stayed a week and it was a fantastic place to relax after the cultural triangle.

We stayed in the tree house for 3 nights and it was an amazing experience. The tree house is basic but comfortable with a bathroom and shower. From your bed you can see the ocean when you open the window. The tree house is made of branches so the wind just blows through, such nice and fresh air.

The food a Cinnabar is really really good. I have to admit, I'm a pretty impatient person so the slow service was challenging for me. But the food is worth the wait. Breakfast was also super.

Room Tip: Try the tree house if you're a nature lover

So my Mum stayed here during April this year. She was given the option of two rooms, one delux and one normal. The delux room was extremely clean. Spotless in fact. It also had a good quality mosquito net and reasonable fan. The room was set back away from the beach by about 100 metres.

When I stayed at Cinnabar, I stayed in the beach treehouse. A treehouse overhanging the beach and looking out on to the sea. You must be prepared for insects and the rest of stuff that goes with staying in a treehouse but I absolutely loved it. Don't think it would be great for light sleepers but I couldn't recommend it more.

Kumara (I think) is the chap that owns and runs it. He is an absolute pleasure as are the staff that run the restaurant. There is a delightful little hut on the beach under the treehouse where they cook up the food etc. Food was better than the standard West coast Sri Lankan touristey beach dishes as they seemed to stick to some authentic Sri Lankan dishes.

The actual beach is the best one on the West / South coast if you are looking for quiet relaxation. Although I didn't have the confidence to swim in the sea - quite rough. None of the annoying pumping music and youngsters getting drunk which makes it nicer than the rest of the other popular beaches on the West / South coast. Hope it stays the same for as long as possible.

Room Tip: Get the tree house if you want an experience. Alternatively there is a mud hut with actual trees com...

My boyfriend and I stumbled on Cinnabar by accident but were so happy we did - it ended up being the perfect place to stay during our short time in Tangalle. The staff were helpful, kind, and accommodating, and our cabana was clean and comfortable. We spent two beautiful days relaxing in hammocks by the beach in the mornings and biking into town in the afternoons. I'd highly recommend Cinnabar to anybody passing through the area.

Cinnabar resort lies a short tuktuk ride outside Tangalle on a beautiful, seemingly endless stretch of wide beach which we had pretty much to ourselves for our 3 night stay.

We stayed in the treehouse (they also offer cabanas) above the restaurant which is right on the beach. Going to sleep listening to the waves crashing on the shore below was incredible.

The treehouse itself was comfortable, with a walk-in shower/bathroom area! We had a small balcony, and if you didn't want to sleep with the window open there was even a fan to keep the bedroom cool.

The welcome we received from the staff at Cinnabar was outstanding. Pradeep looked after us brilliantly and always with a warm greeting and a smile. Kamal, the owner was also very open and offered us to have a drink with him on one of our evenings there.

The food in the restaurant was extremely tasty, and the portions, especially for breakfast, were enormous.

I think the main selling point of the resort though has to be the location. Although we were there at the end of the busy season, we had huge stretches of beach pretty much to ourselves, a luxury we've not often found anywhere in the world, let alone Sri Lanka. Tangalle certainly is a little piece of paradise.

Room Tip: When will you ever have another chance to stay in a treehouse on the beach?!

We stayed at the tree house and i cant recommend it enough. Its built beautifully in perfect harmony with nature. to wake up in the tree houses here was absolute bliss. The sounds of the waves, the nice sea breeze, taking a shower while having the door open of the tree house just felt amazing..

the brothers who own the place are from hikkaduwa and have the most laid back vibes. very helpful and speak very good english.

i imagine it wud make an amazing stay for honeymooners!

definetly going back here if im ever in tagalle!

Room Tip: i wudnt go for anything else but the tree house. i mean, how often do u get to stay in one!?
