It is a very big hotel used by many tour groups. It is located in an isolated area that would discourage any walking around the hotel, but it has a nicely decorated lobby area, a large garden and an outdoor auditorium that can keep one occupied for the day. It is more a resort type hotel. The hotel does try to provide activities including a native dancing show in the evening. There is a bakery plus western and Chinese restaurants on site. We tried the Italian restaurant and the food was average so one may want to stick to Chinese food. The room was very spacious with a good hot spring bath that one should try. One uncommon feature was that the toilet is off to one side with a hand sink. However, the room only has bath/shower gel with no bar soap. If one uses the handless washlet ward toilet flushing system would be fine, otherwise one would need to scramble across the room to wash your hand properly.

When I had the time to visit it with my wife one years ago, we surprised the dinner is very delicious. The night is very silence. It really took us to release by ourselves.

Stayed one night. Room was average but it's a great property. They have a petting zoo and black swans in the pond. Breakfast was really good. They have a great pool. If I were there an extra day, they have archery in the morning which I thought would be interesting. One negative is that there's not much outside of the hotel property -- meaning stores or shops or restaurants.

nice hotel but has a certain "old" smell. rooms are pretty big & bathrooms are clean.

they have a free cultural show at the lobby but couldn't understand much since it was almost all in Taiwanese/Chinese

be careful also in ordering room service - my friends complained that the pasta they got tasted like it was about to be spoiled. they did offer to change or not charge us anymore for it

setup of buffet was kind of weird - they separated it between 2 areas

Stayed in this hotel when I joined a tour group. It was a great experience! View from the room was great! As it is situated up on a hill. There was a complimentary Roselle cookie inside the room for your enjoyment. I totally love the small bathtub with spring water flowing out from the taps. It is good for those who feel uncomfortable going for common bath/ onsen. You can do it at the luxury and privacy of your room.

stayed a night in a twin room. room was not particularly clean and definitely aged, this could be due to the obvious large number of guests coming through daily from tour groups, so rapid wear and tear and no time for upkeep can be expected. however the basic amenities were available or otherwise housekeeping can provide.

buffet breakfast had an array of oriental choices with some western options too.

in the evening there was an indigenous performance by the local kids right in the lobby.

getting here by car would be recommended.

Stunning location, perched high above the town and thus offering a quiet setting with glorious views. Both breakfast and dinner buffets were very busy, if you were looking for a quiet location to enjoy the food this isn't it. I felt hassled. Room excellent, clean and fit for purpose. Some local dance group provided evening entertainment and a games / computer room provided access to the internet and child amusements. Footpaths surround the hotel, with a chance to stretch the legs whist viewing the black swans on the nearby pond.
