“Getting to this beach is an adventure!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2014

The beach is awesome, however, to get there is a great adventure! It's easy to take a cab from the town to get this beach, but it's boring... it's much better to rent a bike with friends and take a fun ride through the winding road to Bluff Beach.

“Nice beach, but not for swimming”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2014

This is a beautiful stretch of beach, but the waves and strong current make it very difficult to get into the water. If you want a place to just chill on the beach with plenty of shade options from trees, it's worth checking out.

“White Sands, Strong Surf”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 February 2014

Picture perfect. We were the only people on the beach when we arrived midweek, mid morning. Super long, wide expanse of clean white sand. Perfect for sunbathing. The surf is a bit strong to swim in, but would be great for experienced surfers or boogie boarders.

“4 days on Bocus del Toro”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2014

Ron Dennis, the owner was not at resort when we arrived. Steve was the manager in charge in Ron's absence. The resort is beautiful and serene. A very friendly hello from resident dog, cassius clay (he looks more like a Brutus or Bupkis) to me but the friendliest boxer I have met. We were invited for breakfast and in our room by 10am. The pool is to die for. A very relaxing day and then we want to shower and no hot water!! We notified Steve who gave a few excuses and tried to remedy but could not and says to my husband, you can shower next day. As they say "I don't think so". We had to push the issue and he finally said we could use and uncleaned room's shower. The next 2 days were the same. Finally, when Ron arrives he fixes the issue. WE did not need the "attitude of Steve" who did not try to be humble or apologize but used excuses instead of giving us a different room that had hot water.

Living off the grid means toilet paper in the trash can, not he toilet and water pressure that is a little more than a trickle. Lights are dim (romantic) They try to use or re-use everything. It is not an easy environment to live all the time, but if you have not, you will appreciate much more, what you have.

“Trip to bluff beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 January 2014

All of these reviews are true. The whole experience biking from town to bluff ,the beach and bar make for a great day.August the waves die down and you can swim out there. Not to many of those days though. The waves otherwise crash on the sand .The surfing is dangerous ,betteroff at paunch and tiger tail and some breaks inbetween .When you reach bluff you have missed the private coves and swimm spots all along the 3mile ride.Lots of great pools to sit, swim, snorkel and of course surf. The new bar at paki point and the bars up at bluff will keep you refreshed, but are bringing lots of people out there . I have to admit this 3 miles is one beautiful ,secluded ,paradise and I didn't mention the animals out there. You can take a jungle tour on horseback which goes miles past bluff. It's nice back there but u need atv, horse to get out there. To far to walk and very tough bike ride but strong bikers could do it .There are no conveniences past the fence at end of bluff!! .have a good trip .Respect the turtle nests, and don't buy the eggs from locals .We want to preserve the wild life .The local Indians are allowed to hunt and eat them but I don't want to promote the hunting . Always be careful with the water you drink. Not reporting any problems out there but got reall sick from possibly the ice from drink out at zapatillo.
