Owner description: ATV/Quad Rental Flying Pirates - ride an ATV, with or without a guide, through a private, off-limits-to-everyone-else, 1,500 acre rainforest! Your day begins in the heart of Bocas town, where you will be picked up and shuttled to our secondary location just outside of town. We offer surf racks, for those of you wanting to hit the waves while you are out, and all of our bikes come with lock boxes attached for your cameras and cash. Wind your way out of town until you hit Bluff Road and just keep right on going until you reach our property. The Flying Pirates trails will take you through the jungle, then alongside pristine beaches, all perfect for a pit stop and some swimming. Rock Beach, La Piscina and, the newly accessible Blue Lagoon, are all gorgeous natural water formations perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Explore the caves at the tip of the island, and return through Monkey Trail. If you rev your engines a little bit, the monkeys might just yell back at you.

Definitely our best experience in Bocas, if not our entire trip through Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama so far… Seriously, if you do this early in your trip you'll discover that Isla Colon has SO much more to offer than Bocastown! You'll also find new places that you'll want to go back to for the rest of your time in Bocas. We waited until the last day and discovered some of the most beautiful beaches (and beach bars) we've encountered in our Costa Rica-Nicaragua-Panama tour of debauchery. We would of never made it to these places if we didn't rent ATVs from Flying Pirates, but we were absolutely speechless when we parked our ATV, walked down to the beach, and saw a kilometer of white sand in either direction and not a single person on it.
We rented for 3 hours and definitely could of spent more time out.
SUGGESTION - Stop at "The Beach Bar", the last bar riding North on Bluff's beach. Best lunch we had in Bocas (found a new appreciation for plantain chips - try them), and the bartender was a rockstar/great dude from Lake Tahoe, USA. Ask him to make you his Abuelo/passion fruit drink. I'm not too big for mixed/fruit drinks, but this thing was amazing! Hope to see it on the menu next time I'm there.
Other than the discovery of seemingly uninhabited territory, the ride itself was epic! Pirates put a lot of effort to gain control of all the property you can ride on, and we mobbed through mud, across streams, and rode on the beach (in the area where its legal) while ocean swells seemed to wash away what we assumed was the trail.
Flying Pirates were extremely professional, all the gear is meticulously maintained, and I can't wait to see where this company grows to the next time I'm back in Bocas. The level of detail they put into making sure you have an unforgettable experience was inspiring from any business perspective.
Be respectful of the rules and the local environment we're lucky enough to visit. Take a few minutes to chat with the owners - great people speaking of inspiration! Oh yeah, and a free beer after your ride :)

Don't let the small town feel of Isla Colon in Bocas Del Toro fool you: this is a big island with so much to see and do. Renting an ATV from the Flying Pirates is a must. You'll be able to explore places you'd probably never get to without one. These guys not only rent reliable ATVs but they have painstakingly mapped out all the best spots in the most beautiful parts of the island. Check out Bluff Beach. There are a few restaurants/bars that should not be missed. And don't forget your camera! La Piscina is a beautiful ocean "pool" where you'll be able to kick back and enjoy the view or cool off in the calm salty water. If you haven't driven an ATV before, the Pirates will show you how and you'll get the hang of it quickly. After renting one, I really don't want to drive a car again. THESE THINGS ARE SO MUCH FUN!! Thanks Flying Pirates.

These guys are awe sum, good equipment, great service and plenty of places in an out of the jungle to ride! You got to do this when coming to Bocas!!! My friend and I were gone the entire day, and had the best time ever, only stopped once for a couple of beers, then back on the trail. At the end of the day we were totally muddy, dirty and grinning from ear to ear, ooh ya!
