Staying at Al Natural is truly an experience. We loved the hospitality and ambiance of the "resort". The open bungalows were like nothing we had done before (my son calls it "The Stick House"). The food was super. The snorkeling and beaches were just ok (unless you ask my 5 yr old who would say they were fabulous!). The resort gets its power from solar panels which is great ecologically but they ask you not to run the ceiling fan overnight which can be a problem in the tropics. Mealtime is a friendly group event which adds to the experience. There are no TV, radio, cell phones, internet which we loved. You can lounge in a hammock all day or explore the area at your leisure. We saw sloths, monkeys, iguana, zillions of lizards, a huge toad, barracuda, crabs, and lots of fish. Unfortunately we were also eaten alive by bugs and still itch. The worst seemed to be the "sand flea" kind of bugs so beware if you are bug bite prone (maybe all tropical coasts have this problem?). All in all, I am glad we had this unique experience but I don't feel the need to repeat it any time soon.
