Have stayed at this hotel many times before on my many trips to Delhi. 5 minutes walk from the New Delhi railway station. Just to help fellow travelers, the hotel us located towards Ajmeri Gate exit or just walk in the direction of Platform number 1 once you get off the train and you'll see the hotel as you're walking on the foot over bridge. Pretty easy to get to even by Metro since the station is located right outside the hotel.

As for the hotel, its a budget hotel for budget travelers. A simple room with ac, television and clean bathrooms. Its a self service hotel so no room service. The hotel does have a small gym and a restaurant downstairs where one can go and eat food. Staff is courteous and helpful despite of huge amount of people who throng in each day due to GInger's low rates. Book early since rooms are almost always sold out. I agree with fellow reviewers, noise is the biggest problem. Even after keeping the windows shut, noise finds its way through. Maybe management can install sound proof windows.

Room Tip: Try taking rooms on the higher floor. They are a little less noisy.

Ginger New Delhi's location is perfect when you arrive from New Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport through the new Airport Express Metro Line. In my experience, Wi-fi didn't work when I tried to activate it on my Italian mobile phone number, but staff refunded me. However, the major trouble with this hotel is the noise: you hear constantly car horns and people yelling on the street, even at night.

The hotel has many pluses: located within easy walking distance of the New Delhi Railway station, and the Metro station (from where one line connects with the airport); the central location also makes it convenient to visit all areas of Delhi- taxis and autos are available outside the station at all hours, and of course there is the Metro; the website is easy to navigate and internet booking easy; although, there is limited staff (which contributes to the relatively low cost), those I dealt with were pleasant, and helpful; checking-in and-out was quick. The room and attached bathroom were of good size-both were clean; the shower was great and there was hot water; the bed and pillows were clean and comfortable; room was well lit, and there was a window that could be partially opened. There were at least two commercial unopened mineral water bottles in the room, and also a tea/coffee maker with supplies. An iron and ironing table were available in an alcove on each floor. I found the place quiet, and was not bothered by the noise of trains. The attached restaurant is clean, and staff efficient. The quality of food was good-the price low- the menu is basic but adequate. The access to the hotel is challenging, as is often in India: a small tortuous lane with a spill over of the mass of humanity in the day time. This hotel is not for individuals who are looking for a 5 star eating establishment in the immediate vicinity and the ambience of such 5 star places. Personally, I have stayed at 5 star hotels in Delhi-the service has been indifferent and robotic. In future, even if my expenses are paid, I would prefer to stay here.

Located close to the station, a large modern hotel, owned by the Tata group. The rooms are clean and bright. They have a small fridge or waiting two bottles of water, a kettle handy for tea / coffee in the morning, the air conditioning, television, newspapers available in the lobby, a restaurant open in principle H24 . A very good service for a good value for money.
