I have been to many parts of the world but, apart from cheap budget hotels have never been given a room so small. From a list of 6 beers on the menu, they only had the most expensive available. Found the same when we ordered wine from the bar. Thankfully, the hotels on the rest of our holiday were not such a rip off.

Room Tip: They will tell you all rooms are the same size but, they do have some a little larger, with room for your suitcases. If you think the room is small - let them know you're not happy.

As soon as I walked into the hotel, the first thing that struck me was the bling lobby. After I collected my senses, I managed to check in, which was quite a smooth process. My room, although clean, was slightly worn looking and the bathroom could have done with an upgrade. The smallish room size wasn't really a bother because it's a fine size for a single person. The staff at the hotel are really helpful. The food prices seemed a bit costly, but I grabbed just one room service dinner of a chicken burger, which tasted OK. Try and get the breakfast included in your tariff because that is a huge affair. The hotel is a decent stay for someone who has come on business and doesn't plan to spend too much time indoors.

I stayed at this hotel 25/26th February 2013 . Having travelled the world I would like to point out that this hotel is a total rip off !! The staff are pleasent and anything good stops there . We sat at the pool area and asked for the drinks menue, a small bottle of beer was priced between 300 & 550 RP about £3.60 to £6.00 but the only one they could serve you with was the £6.00 !
In the restaurant they hav several Dry white wines but the only one in stock was the most expensive about £50.00 we drank water !!! The rooms are small ! we made a fuss and we ended up with a small suite !! I would'nt give this hotel 2 stars and would never go back !!

Room Tip: Dont go !!!

The hotel overall was good. The restaurant is excellent. Breakfast was fantastic every morning and the indian for dinner was great too. Not too many complaints except for the price of things at this hotel once you are staying there. It was actually shocking that they had the nerve to charge the prices they do for some things. For your information, we stayed here for 4 nights and had 2 rooms with 2 people in each room. Here's my review:

Staff: 5/5
Everyone at this hotel was exceptionally nice and accommodating. Managers made an effort to come around when they saw us to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. They remembered our names and greeted us every time they saw us. When we had to call down for the odd necessity (an iron, wine glass) they were prompt in getting it to us.

Room: 3.5/5
For India standards these rooms are pretty good. But be selective. One of our rooms was nicer than the other. Ours seemed to have a heavy musty smell (typical of many hotels in India lol) where my parents room didn't. Size is typical. Again, our bathroom was not as clean as my parents. But for India standards it was good. We stayed on the 15th floor.

Restaurant: 5/5
The breakfast here is fantastic. Huge selection in both Indian and Western foods. Omelette station, dosa station and a variety of juices, fruit, pastries, bacon (yes bacon! lol) and many other things. We had dinner in the main dinning room one night and the Indian food was excellent. We did not try the Chinese restaurant (it didn't seem to be as popular). The restaurant is 24 hours which is also convenient.

Grounds: 5/5
They keep the grounds of this hotel immaculate! Was very impressed. The pool area was well maintained and had a great terrace to sit and have an afternoon cocktail or snack. The bar inside is cozy as well as the lobby seating. The roman decor is a bit tacky but it's well maintained and there's a lot to look at :)

Price: 2/5
This is where the downfall is. Firstly, they charge for internet. And it's very expensive! Around $15 for 24hrs. I don't even pay that in North American hotels. And the connection is terrible...we couldn't even connect half of the time (and be aware that in India you can usually only use one device for each code that you pay for). So if you will be using internet everyday, this will be costly! The food was pricey too. Great food in India is cheap, so there's no reason you should be paying the prices you do in their restaurant. The beverages were ridiculous in price! A beer was 5 times the price it is in any other hotel or restaurant we visited. Beer is cheap in India, no excuse for these prices. The hotel also charges a ridiculous amount to pick you up or drop you off at the airport. Again, 5 times the price of most hotels. I suggest you get an outside cab if you are doing so.

Location: 4/5
Great location. Close to other hotels and some restaurants. Make sure you know where you are going in this city, because many of the locals will stop and ask you if you need help and will easily direct you in the wrong direction (like to their brother's travel office lol). You're close to Connaught Place, but it's a bit of a walk. We enjoyed this though as you're away from the business of this area.

Overall it's a good hotel. But we all agreed that because of the price of the internet, the ridiculous price for hotel pickup/drop off and restaurant prices we wouldn't stay here again. We were originally going to stay at the Metropolitan but decided here to save some money. I think we actually ended up spending more because of all the added expenses. But if these aren't big issues for you, then it's a good place to stay

Room Tip: Ask to see a couple of rooms before you get given one

The staff at the hotel were friendly, while providing a very good service. The lobby bar had a good atmosphere although the drinks were expensive. The bell boy assisted with negotiating the price of our tuc tuc. Overall a most enjoyable stay.
