“Good starting point for India”
Reviewed 9 November 2013

Our first stop in India. Amax was a decent start: pretty clean, relatively basic (though with A/C), quite a good bathroom (hot water quite reliable), good location for sights and for railway terminus. Staff are friendly, helpful and not pushy at all (unlike every other trader in Delhi).

WiFi only in foyer encourages people to meet each other and chat in reception, rather than hide in bedrooms. Breakfast on rooftop cafe is pleasant and good value.

They also arranged airport pick-up, which went smoothly, for 650 Rupees.

This hotel is surely a home away from home. Rooms are spacious, very neat and tidy with all amenities one may require for a comfortable stay. My stay at this hotel was for 10 days and i felt really good. The staff is friendly and make you feel at ease. This hotel offers a roof-top restaurant but room service is usually preferred. The food is really tasty and is easy on pocket as well. Of all the budget hotels in the Paharganj area; this hotel offers best that you can ask for in a bacis hotel accomodation.

Not a bad hotel for the price. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful with further travel plans, arranging taxis and info on various sights.

Wifi only in the lobby and the room was a little dark and dingy but I guess you don't visit one of the most crowded chaotic cities in the world to sit around in the hotel room. Bathroom was simple and clean.

Short walk from main bazaar with loads of restaurants, night spots and shopping.

Average place, they always try to get you to book the more expensive rooms however they have fairly cheap ones if your on a budget. Food in the restaurant is not to bad either. Decent location. Wouldn't rant and rave about this place but it was clean, friendly staff. Would stay here again

We stayed for two nights from 2-4 October. It was a reasonable rate and you got what you paid for. It was a little noisy and there wasn't any hot water. There was a shower, but it didn't work so we had to use the bucket which wasn't a massive problem, but others may find it so.

Big bed, clean rooms and tv.

Perfect if you want a cheap place to crash after a hot and sweaty day in Delhi.

Amax Inn was an excellent room for a great value. We arrived earlier than our check in time, and the staff allowed us to stow our packs while we went and explored the city. When we came back, our room was ready, nice and clean, and a sight for sore and tired eyes. After we washed and rested up, we went upstairs to the rooftop restaurant and had a beer and some dinner, which was excellent. Wifi in the common areas. Hot water upon request. Room service. All for a very reasonable price. There were also a lot of fellow travelers and tourists staying, and it was nice to talk to them and make some new friends. The only downside was the strong smell of moth balls in the bathroom, but it was better than smelling the city! A little hard to find in the Paharganj area.
Definitely recommended.

I had booked this for one night on October 11, 2013. They quoted the lowest rate very very near to the railway station. They even arranged a cake for us on order. The staff was very polite and understanding. Catered to all our requests, even unreasonable ones. Must visit!
