Very satisfied with our stay. Excellent sound insulation: you can't hear neighbors nor the street noise. Clean, well appointed rooms. Breakfast has a lot of very good choices. Other restaurants are also of excellent quality.

The location on the Metro (Janakpuri West station) made it very easy for my wife to visit the city while I was at work. Typical Delhi suburban neighborhood: busy and chaotic with shopping nearby.

Do yourself a favor and stay at the Taj (in the embassy neighborhood) here in Delhi. You can thank me later. I come to Delhi with colleagues 1-3x a year and have always had an incredible experience at the Taj.

So ... why you should avoid this Hilton:

Pulling up to the hotel, though there was staff by the front door, no one came to greet us nor help with our bags. Reception staff were friendly but slow. Key finally in hand, I go up to my room. Room appears to have been cleaned: folded towels in the bathroom, bed is made ... the usual. Taking a closer look at the bed, even though it has been made, the pillows appear to be quite wrinkled. Pulling back the duvet shows that the bed sheets are also wrinkled and a few black hairs have also been included at no extra charge. Nice. They've gone thru the motions making the room look like it was cleaned. I check the bathroom. Also appears to have been cleaned yet there are no toiletries and a used tube of something by the sink. Its not like someone just left it laying there. Classy. Two calls to reception finally gets me a new room, an apology and a complimentary upgrade to the executive floor. Same exact sized room but with access to a lounge on the same floor.

Check the bed sheets; clean. Bathroom has towels AND toiletries. ok. Notice that besides the two pieces of fruit (same as the other room) left on the table there is also a small box of chocolates. Opening the box shows that there should normally be 3 pieces, yet someone was nice enough to have eaten one.

So besides very poor housekeeping, the property also has maintenance issues. It's worn and dirty. Dirty hall carpets, stained walls ... really ?? These things stand out and then you start to notice smaller details, like burnt out light bulbs in the room and restaurant (Zune).

The duty manager tracked me down having dinner with a colleague in Zune. He apologized and stated that this is not the norm at a 5 star property such as this hotel, but that's it.

Stay away.

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of our stay in India and had a day room the last day. For size and comfort of rooms, this hotel compares well with those in Canada and the USA. Our room was quiet and the beds comfortable. We never used the pool or most other facilities. However, we ate several meals at the Twenty9 Café and the food was excellent. Initially, we ate nothing but Indian food, which was good. However, on the last day my wife was craving North American food and was pleased to see a good assortment on the menu (I stuck with Indian).
On our last day in India, our group of 18 were allocated 4 day rooms. However, as the hotel had empty rooms, we were given one room for each couple (9 rather than 4) at no extra charge - nice touch. They also let me use the business centre to print out my boarding passes at no extra charge. Otherwise, I cannot comment on value, as our trip was a package that included hotels.
As we had a fair amount of free time on our last day in India (arrived at hotel about 2:30 p.m. and left for the airport at 11:30), we decided to take a Tuk-Tuk down to a local shopping area. The hotel staff were quite helpful, telling us where to catch the tuk-tuk, what to tell the driver and how much to pay (60 rupees each way, as opposed to the 200 the driver originally asked for). This turned out to be a fun adventure for 4 of our group, including my wife and I.
The location seemed a bit away from the action (half hour plus from the airport) but that was not a problem for us, as we were on a tour and travelled by bus most places. However, that might be a consideration for someone on a quick business trip.

I am Delhieite and stay just 5 kms away from this property. Spent our first night after wedding here. The one night stay was a wedding gift from a group of my friends who had arranged for us to stay in the Executive Suite. Thats what the best part of the hotel is. The Staff is courteous and the Executive Suite is luxurious with a King Sized Bed, 2 huge LED Televisions and 2 washrooms. Excellent service in terms of the room decoration with the complimantary chocolate cake and the complimentary wine bottle for the couple. The flipside was that for that price all u would care about is perfection and sadly that is what I cant say about this hotel. The weighing machine in the washroom did not work, The pool and the fitness center closes down at around 11ish and the worst part was that I found a strand of hair in my Dinner Buffet at the Twenty9 Cafe. Even though I wanted to, I did not really make a scene coz it was our first night togeteher and did not want my wife to think that the Hotel was anything less than a 5 Star. Considering the better services provided by Radisson Blu for the same price just 5 kms away from this hotel I would suggest you to try that. The rooms are comparatively smaller but then they add a free massage for the couple, but then thats just my opinion. If bigger rooms is what u want stay in Hilton and probably eat out!!

Stayed on three separate nights during our holiday around India. All staff from the front desk to the pool attendants were friendly. The rooms on the executive floor were spacious, spotless and comfortable. Choice of four good restaurants with the Chinese one particularly recommended. Suppose some would complain about late night wedding party in street outside with loud band music, dancing in the street and colourful and noisy fireworks, but then if you're looking for peace and quiet don't come to India!

Room Tip: Rooms on Executive Floor are especially good
