My wife and I went to Thai High yesterday for her birthday dinner and very much enjoyed the experience. If you live in Delhi, or are here more than a few days, the normal Indian/Continental menu gets old pretty quick (and I love Indian food!)... Thai High excels for both its top-quality Thai offerings and very unique setting.
Pros:
- Great food.
- Easy reservations, they were responsive by email.
- Wonderful view of Qutab Minar and surrounding city. There are multiple levels to the rest. and we were on the top, so can't speak to lower views, but the one we had was great.
- It was a bit brisk out and so we thought we'd be cold, but the staff quickly brought a coal heater that was very welcome.
- In the emails, I had mentioned it was my wife's birthday. She was greeted at the door by the host with a smile and eager birthday greeting - that was a nice touch.
Cons:
- We at a bit early 5-7, and it seemed the waitstaff had not arrived yet. We were served by a prompt attendant, but he spoke no English and made no attempts to engage on menu items, etc. My impression was he was a kitchen runner who had gotten conscripted into being a waiter for the evening.
Menu recommendations:
- Pad Thai was a solid presentation of that dish if you like it. We had the BBQ spare ribs which were very tasty, and the Tom Yum soup was great for the cold evening. Desserts were not impressive at all - we had cheesecake, and it was ok but wouldn't get it again.
