It was one of the most terrible hotels in India. We arrived there late at night and they showed us to our room. It was a tiny room not even big enough to sit. We had booked three months ago the deluxe sweet and they brought us this. We complained to the boss but he said that the room we booked three months ago was full. UNACCEPTABLE! And further more they wanted us to pay them twice the money that that room was worth!!!!!!

The hotel is located in a residential area and thus not in the best of locations surrounded as it is by homes, small shops and a busy approach road. However, once inside the hotel, a guest does not feel that there are in vicinity of a crowded Delhi street. The hotel has been started by a service provider who rents cars. The hotel caters to foreign guests in India on travel or for other purposes and thus is frequented and preferred by foreigners. The staff at the hotel are few but courteous and helpful. As this is a standalone property, systems are very simple and not computerised but the front office takes care to make guest stay pleasant and comfortable. This is a four storeyed property. There is no restaurant and one has to order food in the room or at the small garden area adjoining the property. The food menu is very basic but all food is made to order and thus fresh. Rooms are small but well furnished and comfortable. The hotel has its quirks though - the airconditioner installed has a large digital display that is lit bright when all lights are off and the hotel provides only soft pillows! New Delhi is known for expensive hotels that provide tiny rooms but this one has a reasonable tariff and good service and is recommended for its vicinity to the airport too. The hotel is on the flight path to the airport and hence time at the garden area is spent under airport noisily approaching the airport for landing.

Room Tip: Noise from landing aircraft is likely to be more in the upper floors. The rooms at ground level do...

Looks lovely and appears great but the staff are thoroughly unhelpful and verging on rude. After saying they would bring up a spare bed in just one minute it took 3 phone calls and over 3 hours for them to finally bring it up by which time the 3 of us had crashed out on one double bed. I went down to inquire about why the TV wasn't working and the receptionist just said that it's a problem. I asked if he could do anything for us and he denied that there was any issue worth any sort of recompense. Incredibly frustrating having paid 250rs each for a seafront hotel with pool in Kerala the previous week and then having to fork out over 3000rs for a room of far inferior quality, not to mention location. If I were to do Delhi again, I'd steal clear of Hotel Indira International; especially if you're on a tight budget.

The rooms are decent but the staff is rude very rude, aggressive (even abusive) and they enter your rooms in your absence without your permission.

I had gone for dinner to a nearby KFC outlet and when i came back i saw the door of room wide open and two guys working on the AC. I thought I might have come to a wrong room, but when I double checked the room no. with that on the key I was shocked to see that it was my room!!

I called up the manager to know what was happening and he said that this is general maintenance work and should be done in another 15 mins. He did not even know what privacy is, he was totally unapologetic and adamant. He did not explicitly say that it was his hotel and he has the right to enter any room at any time- but throughout the conversation he pointed out that I'm just a guest!!

My wife's valuables were there in the room, and also a laptop and a p500 when these guys entered in my absence. Thankfully they were all saved. (not sure whether I reached in time and they were saved or maybe they did not have the intention to steal, who knows!)

I thought of calling the cops but gave up the idea as we were totally exhausted since morning travelling from Udaipur to delhi. I called up yatra to let them know of the events and the Hotelier's attitude. They transferred my booking to a nearby hotel (thank you Yatra!, even though the rooms were worse I was atleast assured that I would be safe there for the night)

I have shot videos and photos of the guys working in the room, would upload here as soon as i find my data cable.

Please avoid this hotel, the people are terrible!

Room Tip: Not recommended for couples as they may overpower you anytime. Large groups would be okay.

We stayed at this hotel from 26th July to 6th August 2012 & booked it via Lastminute.com.
The good points were that the rooms were bright (but a little on the small side). The whole hotel was kept very clean. The food at the hotel was average but expensive – there are plenty of cheaper alternative places to eat near to this hotel.
That’s where the good points about this hotel end.
We booked 2 rooms – one standard room (2 adults) & one deluxe room (2 adults & 1 child). The booking included airport pick-up but no one from the hotel came to pick us up at the airport! We had to pay for 2 taxis ourselves to take us to the hotel. When we eventually got to the hotel, we mentioned this to the reception staff & they were not interested. They blamed the booking agent that we used (saying they were not informed that that a pick-up was required). The reception staff did nothing to help – not even an apology. They refused to refund us the taxi fare.
They also gave us only one towel per room. On the first day we asked for extra towels which we got - an hour and a half & three phone calls later and no apology for the delay. They still gave us only one towel per room for the rest of our stay despite asking every day.
There were other issues. The hot water boiler was faulty in the deluxe room (this was the more expensive room). They moved us out in to a smaller room but did not offer a part refund/compensation. Again, the reception staff were not helpful in any way. The hot water boiler was fixed and we were moved back in to the deluxe room. The fix to the boiler was only temporary. It broke again. Yet again, the reception staff did not help & they just did not take any interest in helping to resolve any problem that we had. We all ended up showering in one room.
We once asked the reception staff to recommend a restaurant nearby. They refused – they said that they would only recommend a restaurant if we used their own taxi service to get there & back. This service was very expensive. They once quoted us 800 rupees for a return fare when a private taxi was only 300 rupees.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The main reason was the reception staff were not helpful in anyway. Customer service is something that does not exist in this hotel. This was one of 5 hotels that we stayed in on this trip to India and this was the worst by far. Even the hotel in the village we stayed in was better – the staff there were very helpful.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 days to attend a family event in nearby Vasant Kunj. I booked this hotel as there were no other hotels available in Vasant Kunj.

The Masoodpur locality is one among the dirtiest in Delhi, but the hotel was much better than expected for a locality like that. There was no wifi in the rooms, but a computer with internet was available near the lobby for use. The food was ok & the staff were friendly. The rooms were smaller than most hotels in Delhi. Not recommended.
