This is truly a five star property; perhaps the finest hotel I have ever stayed in.. However, it gets only 4 stars due to an unfortunate incident that occurred at the very end of our stay during check out and a rude interruption by a former Bollywood star that was initially not handled well by the front desk staff.

From the warm and efficient check in at 4:45 am after 39 hours of traveling to our complimentary upgrade we were treated extremely well. The rooms are very spacious and elegantly furnished with wonderful towels and linens, comfortable work and sitting areas. The bathroom really impresses with two sinks, excellent lighting, wonderful strong, invigorating shower, and the best deep-soaking tub ever! All enclosed by etched-glass, double-doors and a chandelier hanging in the bathroom.

Our butler brought us ice within minutes accompanied by a nice selection of masala nuts and olives to enjoy with our self-made, in-room cocktails. While our room's view was nothing special, our garden view was serene and lush.

Service is exemplary with an army of staff to open doors and whisk you into a taxi. The hotel smells absolutely exquisite and bath amenities are generous and of high quality. The rooftop pool is a real treat with a panoramic view of New Delhi and the possibility of spectacular sunsets, if given a rare clear evening. One end of the large pool (perhaps 10-12m long) is decorated with a wall of plants that adds to the calming effect, though it does block a bit of the view. It is worth heading up there for a dip first thing or before dinner to unwind and process what you experienced earlier in the day.

Our second stay at the end of our trip was just as. "Wow" with a warm reception in our room with complimentary cookies and fresh macaroons. Delicious! The car drop off featured no less than 3 exotics as we were leaving; a Lamborghini, a Bentley and a Rolls Royce. Fantastic!

Room Tip: upgrade to a Luxry room for a garden view and larger sitting area. All rooms are great though.

Stayed for three nights in September for an official meeting. The latest addition to Luxury hotels in Delhi is richly decorated, but not sophisticated! It is very LOUD, but that could be my personal choice and opinion and should not deter you for choosing this hotel over others that I have reviewed in Delhi. However, the service also leaves you desiring for more. The staff at breakfast could not handle the crowd e.g. I could not get the eggs made to order to match my needs for two consecutive days (wrong order once and delayed too much on second)...,
Location is good, meeting facilities were perfect.

We stayed at the The Leela Palace New Delhi on our feb 2013 holidays. Good services and warm hospitality. The staff was helpful and friendly. Though it was costly, the level of service was superbly overwhelming. We had a guide arranged for us by a friend but the hotel gave us a friendly and hospitable driver who showed us around. Food was also excellent. Well would say, the hotel is an absolute bang for bucks.

Stayed February 2013, travelled as a couple.

Room Tip: Do try Indian delicacies at the restaurant, its really good!

Truly a 10 star property! I travel to New Delhi often and have stayed at multiple hotels. Since I first stayed at the Leela Palace, I have never stayed anywhere else. The staff know you by name. The rooms are really like your own private palace. It's the little things that make the difference -- free coffee/tea (try the masala tea) delivery in the morning with your wake-up call and news paper, cookies in your room during the day and Indian sweets by your bed a night, gorgeous flowers everywhere, the genuine smile that greets you at every turn. The ESPA treatments are worldclass and transport you to a whole other level of luxurious relaxation. The breakfast at the Qube is over the top. The place really is beyond anything you can ever imagine.
When you think you have seen everything, go to the roof top pool and it will blow your mind! After a busy week of working, I spend Saturday morning on the roof with a pot of masala tea and my ipad reading. It is a splendid place and you will not go wrong staying at this property.
The gym is great...use the gym shower at least once...you will want to build the same shower at home. The ESPA products are a bonus.
Wish I could live here!
