We used Travel N Tours to book a one month trip to Nepal and India in April 2014. Ashu organized a private tour for us. We were a family with two adults and two children. The children were ages 8 and 11.

The highlights of the itinerary is as follows:

There were multiple other temple visits and local heritage spots which we stopped at but I am omitting to keep the review somewhat brief.

March 31-April 2: Delhi - Jama Masjid, India Gate, Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, Old town Delhi with colorful rickshaw ride
April 3 - April 5: Flight to Katmandu, Nepal - Pashupatinath temple, Bodhnath Stupa, Swayambhunath (Monkey temple), ancient towns of Patan and Bahktapur
April 6: Flight to Bhubaneschwar in North Eastern India and drive to Puri
April 7: Visit the spectacular Konark temple of Surya in Puri
April 8: Flight to Chenai and drive to Mahabalipuram. Overnight stay at a beach resort.
April 9: Temple of the Five Rathas, the Shore temples. Drive to Pondicherry
April 10: Drive to Chidambaram and to Kumbakonam. The great living Chola temple, Airavatesvara temple
April 11: Drive from Kumbakonam to Tanjore to Trichy. Brihadeeswara temple, Samayapuram temple, Srirangam temple. Overnight stay in Trichy.
April 12: Drive to Madurai. Meenakshi temple.
April 13: Flight to Bangalore overnight
April 14-18: Flight to Mumbai for a break in the trip
April 19:Flight to Aurangabad, drive to the spectacular Ajanta caves
April 20: Ellora caves and flight to Delhi, overnight in Delhi
April 21-22: Drive to Agra, visit Sikandra tomb of Akhbar, Agra fort, Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri
April 23: Agra to Jhansi by train. Drive to Khajurajo. Visit the Orchha temple and palaces.
April 24: Visit the Khajurajo temples, flight to Varanasi
April 25: In Varanasi, boat ride on the Ganges to view the cremation ceremonies from off shore.
April 26-27: Flight to Delhi, relax for two nights
April 28: Return to the States

It is difficult to fully describe this incredible tour of Nepal and India, the sights, the culture, the ancient temples and palaces and not least the absolutely wonderful and friendly locals. We travel widely and I have to admit that this was the most well planned trip I had been on. Just imagine, 4 weeks of traveling, with nine flights within Nepal and India, approximately 60 hotel pick ups and approximately 40 meetings with various local guides throughout the trip. There was a representative meeting us at the airport on each flight arrival. Representatives were at all the hotels to meet and greet us. Not once, did any of the representative arrive late. Each and every time there was someone waiting for us for the next leg of the journey and they were early.

It is not unusual to be somewhat wary when booking a long tour using the internet. However, within several days of this trip, I was very confident that we had booked with the right company. Ashu met us on our first arrival in Delhi and brought us small gifts as well as a local cell phone to be used if any concerns arose. I have to admit, the cell phone was not very useful as everything went smoothly as planned.

My family and I will always remember this trip fondly.

Ease of coordination/Service:
1. Travel and Tours India was very responsive to all our queries and needs. From the start, Ashu promptly answered emails even at what we thought were unholy hours for them in India. We think that it is important, specially for India "first timers" that the travel organizer builds up your confidence towards the trip. Travel and Tours, by Ashu's actions mtade it "easy" for us to prepare ourselves for the trip.
2. Ashu met us at the airport and set us off on our India trip with a briefing and orientation in the car and at the hotel. He also took that opportunity to hand over to us all the proper documentation we needed for the rest of our stay: the itinerary (which he emailed beforehand as well), our tickets for our two train trips, hotel vouchers, etc.
3. During the trip, Ashu was always accommodating when we had queries and he addressed them as well.

1. We chose to stay within a specific budget for our trip and we chose the hotels that we thought would be clean, safe and strategically located. All our hotels met these standards and were even a bit better than we expected. In fact some may have been the best available in the areas where we went. I want to emphasize that one of our foremost concerns was safety and the choice of hotels put us at ease.
2. We chose to include a private car throughout our trip. The private car was a 4 door Suzuki sedan was clean and ran well. The drivers were courteous and were equipped with the basic knowledge of the places we visited. They were also safe drivers, which is important in India traffic. The drivers were mostly on time, except the first one who was late for one appointment. Ashu made sure we had a better driver the following day.
3. A plus factor which we were very pleased with was that the drivers accompanied us on the train station platforms until we got on the trains, at times for a couple of hours. They did not leave our side and made sure we were in the right spot for the particular train coach we were supposed to board.

1. We were given guides for all the places we visited, Delhi, Udaipur, Jaipur and Agra. All the guides provided were very knowledgeable about the sites we visited. They were also very transparent about the fees that were needed for all the places we visited (the fees are not part of the package and we knew this beforehand).
2. Just bear in mind that part of the income of these guides comes from commissions they get from bringing you to various crafts shops. The products from these shops are top quality but quality costs so if you're on a budget, make sure you make it clear to the guide that you are not in the market for a 300 or 500 dollar carpet. And Indian crafts stores are very good at trying to sell you their ware. So, again, make your intention to the guide known.

1. The guides will bring you to predetermined restaurants, which are part of the itinerary, some are ok and some are average. It will be better to read up on where to get the best food for your money and direct the guide or driver to take you to these restaurants. We also had free breakfast included in all our hotels. The breakfast choices were basic but sufficed. Again, you get what you pay for.
2. As a side note, it is always better not to be too adventurous when it comes to food. And all travel blogs will tell you to always stick to bottled water and bring upset stomach medicines with you.

Overall, we would rate Travel and Tours India and the service provided by Ashu 4 stars out of 5. We were taken care of enough so we could enjoy the experience. It was money well spent. We would use them again next time.

It's very rare that you find a company who will go out of their way to ensure all your expectations are met and even exceeded. Ashu is truly great at what he does and accommodated all of our out-of-the box requests. He planned a fantastic itinerary based on all the cities we wanted to visit and followed up with us daily to ensure our experience was going well. We visited Delhi, Varanasi, Khajuraho, Agra, and Jaipur from January 3, 2014 to January 10, 2014. He arranged for a local representative to meet us at each train station or airport as well as a city expert to accompany us on our daily tours in the given city we were visiting to provide us with the history of each attraction we saw. We lost our train tickets on one leg of the tour and Ashu arranged for a local agent to meet us at the train station to provide us with replacement tickets. He also arranged for birthday cakes for my mom and brother on their birthday upon arrival to our hotel in Agra. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable trip in India and will recommend his services to anyone who plans on visiting India in the future.

Our experience with Travel n Tours India falls in line with all the other excellent reviews.
Not to be repetitive, here are two observations that may help other travelers: We contacted Mr. Ashu about ten weeks before our trip. Our plans were rather ambitious (12 sites in 13 days). Mr. Ashu presented an itinerary and we went fore and back several times to iron it all out. In the end we had a very detailed schedule that we agreed upon. I recommend to plan carefully because once we were in India everything went amazingly like clockwork. This was great and we enjoyed it very much but on the other hand there is limited flexibility to change plans on the spot.
Travel n Tours took care of transportation (including domestic flights) and guide services. We decided to book the hotels ourselves. Somebody wrote in an earlier review that they saved money this way. I can't speak to this because I never asked for a proposal with the lodging included. In the end the hotels were mostly what we expected but two of them were still misses. If there's another trip to India in the future I probably let them recommend hotels as well.

We did a One day trip through Dehli with Travel N Tours! Before we got there we were in contact with Ashu, who was helping us a lot with the planning of our trip according to our wishes. We were picked up by him and a driver in a confortable car at Dehli airport in the night and were transferred to our Hotel (Jivitesh), which I can highly recommend. Next day we were picked up again by a driver and our german speaking guide (Ravinder). Ravinder did the sightseeing with us in New and Old Dehli. He was very caring, answered all our questions and was helping us with everything. I mostly enjoyed the tour through Old Dehli with a rikshaw bike! I can highly recomment Travel N Tours and will definitely book them again for my next India trip!
