A great place at a reasonable price. Staff, rooms, food (in fact everything) was fab. A home from home. Internet fast and unproblematic, cable TV showing all of the World Cup matches.

Unless you want to pay out a ton more of your hard earned cash or be waited on hand and foot at one of the larger hotels, I can't see why you want to go anywhere else?

Room Tip: I stayed in the Blue Room; the best i think. Has a balcony and private bathroom, very spacious. The...

I have known the Amarya group for 5 years now but haven't been back to Delhi since 2012.
My stays at this time were in Amarya Haveli in Hauz Khas Enclave.
Amarya Villa is as comfortable and clean and staff as helpful and nice.
Although, two regrets: noise due to the main street nearby and this house seems to have aged quicker than Haveli. (I had the Emerald room: button missing on cupboard in bathroom, wall paintings cracking and dirty in some places, old aged bath tube, limestone deposits on the shower blocking the water jets)
Apart from these details, my stay was pleasant but my preference goes to Haveli.
Next time I will book earlier and remain there.

Room Tip: Good location. IGIA and Delhi centre are only a 30min drive away. Staff excellent and rooms clean.

We spent our first two nights in India at the Amarya Villa and found it perfectly satisfactory. Luxurious? No. But our room was fine, the bathroom worked well (although hot water was in short supply, something we found in a handful of the places we stayed) the public space was a useful space to work on my laptop and the restaurant was very nice. Certainly there are some rough edges in terms of aesthetics but what was there was mostly clean. Our breakfasts were terrific and as it turned out we had dinner there both nights. The food was very good and the wait staff paid terrific attention to us. Perhaps the strong point of the whole experience was their staff who were wonderfully outgoing and willing to help out in any way. If it is your first time in India (as it was ours) you'll probably find everything very confusing and even a walk down the street is overwhelming in the sense that there is such a crowded mixture of people, buildings and activities that the small enclave that is the Amarya Villa is a great starting-off point.

We have been in this hotel during two nights: one at the beginning of our trip in Rajasthan and the other at the end.
The first time, the room was very poor (I could not have enough hot water for a shower in the morning; there was almost no decoration, and no equipment. The room was very noisy and we were freezing during the night). Good point: the room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the breakfast ... just amazing (it made us forget about all the other bad points!).
The second time, our room was much better (none of the problems mentioned above) and the service was still very good.
So overall I can recommend the hotel but you may need some luck to have a good room!!

This is the third time I am going to Amarya Villa, and it is always a great pleasure.
Amarya villa is a concept between hotel and bed & breakfast.
It is another alternative to big hotels, on which despite the luxury services, you can feel, it is quite impersonal.
What I personnaly like, in Amarya, is that you have the sensation to go to a friend's house.
It is typical, clean and very charming.
The whole team is really taking care of you.
The rooms are really nice with typical decoration, and the breakfast fresh and very good.
The showers are not the most modern ones, and sometimes the water pression is not very strong. But this is a small inconvenience compared to the pleasure you have to spend time there.
In a 5 stars hotel, you always have the same style of rooms, services, whatever you are in Delhi, Singapore or New York. In Amarya, you feel that you are in India.
This is a nice way to spend this indian time in family, or not feeling alone when you are here for business.
I would definitely come back there next time!
Thanks to the nice team of Amarya!
Gaëlle Flavigny.

Despite good reviews and appealing photos on their website, this hotel ended up being the worst we stayed in during our trip to India. The "suites" are just big rooms with no real amenities to speak of and while the themed decor was a nice touch, sadly they were not maintained at all. Our room had electric sockets hanging out from the wall and each time we plugged in, it would trip the fuse. The AC was so loud that you could not have it on during the night which then meant all we had was lots of street noise and persistent dog barking at 4am in the morning. The worst part was the bathrooms and no hot water. The bathrooms do not correspond to the rooms either in decor or "suite" status. Very small and the water pressure to the sink, toilet and shower was non-existent. On our first morning, we had no hot water and we spent nearly 3 hours of our holiday time with the staff trying to find another room where we could take a shower. The staff were not really getting the issue and at one point even took us into an already occupied room to offer us a shower there telling us the occupant won't be coming back because he has gone to work but his luggage was very much still there! Then we were offered to have a bucket bath to make things worse! Then we were told the water tank in the kitchen was only 10 litres and so the hot water only stays hot for a few minutes. The stories kept getting worse as did the frustration to the point we ended up moving hotels and even then while they agreed to reimburse us for the remaining nights, they would not recompense us for the sleepless and showerless night we had spent because they were more concerned about not filling the rooms for the remaining nights. Still, we did get a nice breakfast! The location is also not great as it sits right on a main road and quite far from any of the main sites and shopping areas. Never again.

Room Tip: There are none! From our attempts to get hot water and shower with a decent pressure, the only one w...

Dear Guest,

We are profoundly sorry to see your review but thank full for your time. It is the first time for us to receive such a bad feed back. I am sorry on the behalf of our staff that offered you an already occupied room to have your shower, I am sure they did it with their best intentions trying to help you in that particular situation, but I understand this is not acceptable. On the other hand I was informed from the front desk manager that they offered you to have your shower in two other empty rooms but you did not like them either, and that the hot water was functioning in all the rooms, so you did not gave them much options. The only thing is that we have small gysers so we inform our guests to wait for ten to fifthteen minutes between showers so that it will heat up again. But thanks to your review this will never happen again. Regarding the maintenance of the rooms we had the idea that they are very well maintained but we will double check every corner in each room so this will never occur again. I must say that we choose to run a small boutique hotel with few rooms for the only reason to give individual attention and concern to our guests helping in all what is required on their visit to Delhi, so I do not believe that all we are concerned about is to fill up the rooms. You stayed with us only for one night and some faults are not in our power to prevent like dogs, street noise and technical problems. Regardless to our cancellation policy we canceled your remaining stay with us and compensate those nights. About the location of our hotel we are situated in the center of all the sight seeings you will find in Delhi and only 30 minutes away from the airport. Thank you again for your time and sorry for your bad experience. Let us know if you will give us a second chance in the future and we promise we will make it up to you, hope to see you again.

Regards,

Amarya Villa Team
