Our room at Hotel Kabli was decent - clean, comfortable, and good value for Delhi. What really made this hotel shine for us though, was its owners, unique history, and location.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. Unlike some hotel owners that we met in India, they were also refreshingly straightforward, and really made us feel at home.

The history of the hotel as a destination for Afghan travelers is fascinating, and it is clearly still a favourite. We really enjoyed hearing some of the travelers' stories.

We really liked the location of the hotel - in a residential neighborhood. It is calm and quiet. It is a little out of the way, though, so if you want to be near the bustle of Paharganj, you'll want to look elsewhere.

There is also a small, pleasant garden that would be lovely on a warm day (we managed to visit Delhi on its coldest day in 66 years, so no garden for us!).

Our visit really warmed our hearts. Hotel Kabli is a unique gem.

As someone who spent in Delhi two months and changed during this time 6 habitat, can tell you for sure - this hotel is best place in terms of the combination of price, quality, friendliness and attentive attitude.
The biggest value here, as for me, - is the hotel building. This patrimony of current owners of the hotel was built in 1947. Just the year when India got the independence! Isn't it exciting? This fact makes you perceive the hotel in a special way, like a part of history and not just as a hotel, but a lovely house in which you happen to be a guest.
The biggest advantage of the hotel - is the atmosphere. It isn't the most expensive hotel in Delhi, but the attention, which surrounds you as in Five Stars one.
It concerns everyone who works here - even those nice guys who clean rooms.
From a practical point of view - the location is great. You have a market nearby. To get to the subway you need only 30 Rs. Downtown is very near. And the food is very tasty here and coocked with love.
I was lucky to live in a beautiful room with huge windows facing the road. I spent there three wonderful weeks.
Wish the same to you!

Suitable for solo travellers, couples and families alike, this lovely hotel is staffed by warm and friendly people, who go out of their way to make you feel at home in hectic Delhi. The father and son team Inder and Bira who run the hotel are extremely friendly, and will offer free advice as to what to do in Delhi over a yummy cup of chai. In terms of amenities, the rooms are clean, mine had a TV and A/C etc. and perhaps the greatest perk in this regard is the room service, with tasty and economical food delivered to your hotel room at all hours. I will definitely be staying here again when I come back to India.

In hotel Kabli the service provided by Inder, his father and all the staff is excellent.
It is really à heaven of peace and rest in the hectic madness of Delhi.
Don't expect Western standaard of rooms, but don't expect standard Western hotel service eather. This is way better... I was there with my son (5 years) and wife for 3 days and we were really happy in this oasis in the city !

If you are staying in Delhi and don't fancy the hustle and bustle of the center, where most hotels are located, then you should stay at the Kabli hotel. The quiet location in Jangpura is excellent. You will find everything and more in the nearby market. The rooms are quiet and have all you need from WiFi to hot water, fridge, tv etc.

The owners are wonderful hosts who will give you a priceless service. No matter what you need to organise, they will always help you. Be it getting a SIM card, buying airplane tickets, getting around in the city or a cab ride. Not to forget the friendly staff working in the hotel. By the way, you shouldn't miss out the excellent kitchen! Portions are a little big, so better go for the half portions.

It's a place I will happily go back to

Like so many other reviewers, I found Hotel Kabli a wonderful place, not least because of Birra and Inder Kabli, the owners, who take such personal care of all their guests. It is not long before you are exchanging life stories and embarking on interesting discussions. The garden is a focal point -- when I was there chrysanthemums and marigolds were blooming -- and people are taking tea, having breakfast, reading or working on their laptops. Also, there are quite a few rooms and lots of guests, both foreigners and Indians, as well as the (very pleasant) staff, so there is much activity and a sense of busyness. Step outside the walls of the hotel and you find an area with lots of shops, a market to buy fruit and veg, bakeries, pastry shops, a newsagent. The streets, mercifully, are not too busy and there are interesting places to visit within walking distance. The metro is nearby and there are also a lot of buses on Mathura Road to take you to other parts of the city. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and thought has gone into the decoration scheme, which is a nice touch. Nightly mosquito patrol by the staff keeps the bugs away. So -- a perfect spot in Delhi and all the help and advice you could ask for from Birra and Inder. I have already booked a return visit!
