During the week they bring you the traditional tower of sandwiches, scones and sweets. But on the weekend they do a buffet and you can just help yourself. It's a really nice tea in a setting as close to the Raj as you can get. The one odd thing is that the teas are brewed from tea in teabags, rather than loose leaf tea: a strange choice for an establishment that otherwise puts so much effort into doing it all the proper way. I mean, if you can't find loose leaf tea in India, you cannot be looking too hard. There is a big variety of teas to choose from, though and you can try several varieties. The service is wonderful and attentive, and, at least at the weekend buffet, you can hang out for a good long time and sample all the yummies as much as you like. ( The clotted cream was really good, too. Thick and rich. ) Compared to tea you'd get in similarly swanky hotels in London, the price here is also quite good.
