“Poor Experience - not suitable for business guests”
Reviewed 17 February 2013

I am staying in room 207 and I regret to inform that quality of acoustics in the rooms is very poor. during had not been able to sleep due to the loud noise from the nearby rooms / guests and despite telling the front office and the speaking to the other room, its not reduced. Plus there seems to be some equipment running which is making a loud humming noise etc.

I think the quality of your rooms are not upto mark, I regret to say.

also there were couple of marraige during the period and it was again too loud.

Its not a good hotel for business travellers

Room Tip: its a good resort for marraige / conference tec but not good for business travellers etc. also not g...

If you looking for a good hotel near the airport, the Regenta hotel is for you! This hotel is modern, confortable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and the room are clean and quiet.

Bonus:
- The internet connexion was complementary (normaly 100 roupies for an hour)
- We ask for a "late check-out" and it was free (we quit at 14:00)

The hotel has been decorated very well but that's that really. The customer service is absolutely disastrous. The staff have a long way to go in training and etiquette.

1) We couldn't make outside calls from our room so had to keep calling the reception to connect us. We were asked to wait a couple of times but no one rang us back even after 10 minutes. This happened repeatedly.

2) The housekeeping staff could do with a few training sessions as well. Instead of leaving the room absolutely immaculate, they left one of the mugs I had used earlier,in the bathroom. Just goes to show that they don't replace it with clean ones every day but just rinse the same ones out maybe? Very poor for a hotel that's charging so much.

3) The restaurant staff were the most disappointing of all. Only one of the men (I don't remember his name) was very impressive with his hospitality but sadly, he was only around at our first meal. During all other meals we had at their restaurant, we noticed that all the other staff would gather in a corner and looked at the guests eating in the restaurant and talk and laugh openly. Especially one evening when we saw them talking about and laughing openly at a few guests from the far east. They would stare at us quite a lot as well which was very unnerving most of the time.

Noticed the reception staff doing this a few times as well. It was incredibly disappointing. Will probably never return to the hotel because such atmosphere makes one very uncomfortable.

4) The common areas could do with a proper clean! While sitting at the table facing the pool in the restaurant, one can not avoid all the rubbish that was lying around outside, not too far from the swimming pool itself! The corridors were strewn with small bits of rubbish as well.

Oh, also, my husband saw a mouse in the restaurant!

The hotel building and room itself is very nice, as was the breakfast, beyond that I would struggle to recommend it. The hotel lacked facilities expected of a 3.5-4 star hotel, and internet access needs to be bought which I found amazing as many bedsits provide it free. However my main problem with the hotel has to be its location. I found the accessiblity of the hotel a nightmare. Whilst the hotel is located near the airport, I did not realize that its location was that far from central Delhi, and whilst this would not be quite so much of a problem had it been near to a metro station, this is not the case. The hotel is located on the side of a motorway, making it impossible to walk up to a taxi, in the way I was used to doing in Mumbai and coming out of the New Delhi train station, meaning you either have to call a cab company or rely on the hotel staff to call a cab for you providing you agree on the extortionary price for the cost of the journey fixed by the staff in collaboration with the cab company.

Well.. Nice hotel, when you get into the lobby. However first impressions do not always last. The staff was OK, but when somebody else was approaching the front desk or the phone was ringing, everybody turned their attention to the new hot item.. Really NO good customer service.

In the evening - I wanted to use Internet for work. Have to pay extra for that - but SLOW SLOW SLOW connection and 500 for 24 hours + tax.. Not good.

At my stay there was a wedding reception - so everybody was running around like chickens without any head. And when I went to the Restaurant and asked for the Wine List - they don't even have an alcohol license.. I asked them to call for a taxi... after 15 minuts of waiting they apporached me and asked when I needed the taxi.. I just cancelled the taxi, walked to 15 minutes distance to Radisson Blue and had a terrific dinner + wine....

No I must say - first and last visit... Now they ask for this review - however I doubt that any one is reading this and least of all do something about the things that can be done..

And one final note.. Here you can see that Hotel is called Regenta Hotel & Convention Centre - but this is not the fact.. it is called "Orchid - Regenta etc..." that took about 15 minutes extra car driving for the driver to find this hotel - and in best Indian way - ask locals three-four times, before anybody knew what Hotel we where looking for..

Please comon.. At least you can write your Hotel name correctly on Hotels and other services..

OK.. one good thing... Beds where excellent.. thats it!

I stayed at the Delhi Regenta and the one at Chandigarh in this trip and was happy with the overall experience, the most important aspect of any hotel stay is not just the rooms and amenities but the hospitality provided and I must say I truely felt like a guest at both these places, the proximity to the airport makes Regenta an ideal option for any business trip.
