Gorgeous property, very comfortable rooms, exceedingly polite and competent staff. Expensive and worth every dollar. The breakfast buffet is superb. Our only disappointment was their Spice Route restaurant which had impeccable service, innovative menu but the preparation and tastes were rather ordinary.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your appreciation for the property, staff & service. I am glad to note that you had a pleasant stay with us. Your feedback is a great motivation for the team.

I have noted your dissatisfaction with the Spice Route food offering and have conveyed the same to the chef. We shall be taking necessary steps to enhance the meal experience at The Spice Route.

Thank you once again. We value your patronage and look forward to welcoming you back home.

The hotel is Art Deco so if you appreciate the style, fine. The rooms and the facilities are in good condition. The people are polite to an exaggerated degree, evident of their expectation for a tip. This disturbs ! The service in the restaurants ( we have used all four ) is not what you would expect as five star ! There are scores of supervisors going around socializing with customers, but when it comes down to who will set or clear the table, there is a problem!

Overall it is not a bad hotel, but I have been to much much better ones both in India and in other Asian countries !

The Imperial Hotel is an Art Deco masterpiece in New Delhi. The staff have the ability to make every guest feel special. I have enjoyed every aspect of the hotel from the beautifully decorated public rooms, the incredible art and furniture and a beautiful room. The Spice Route is an exceptional restaurant, not just for the food, but for the interesting decor, which tells of the nine stages of life. The only sad aspect of the Imperial is leaving.

I stayed at the Imperial early December 2013 and enjoyed every minute of it. The service is just excellent and the staff is perfect in all they do. The rooms are great and the colonial style and atmosphere is very special. Pool and Spa are really good only the city noise is a little distractive when you try to relax next to the pool. Just one negative point to mention - there is no bar or restaurant inside where you can smoke! A hotel like this needs and deserves a decent Cigar Lounge where you can meet with your business partners!!!

At our arrival during our second stay in the hotel, we were greeted by the phrase 'welcome home'. We surely wish this magnificent place was our home. The smell of roses, the kidness of the staff and the decoration, the furniture ... Everything eradiates the historical significance of the hotel. Attention to details, care for the guests, great food. Highly recommended!!

Unlike many of the new flash 5* hotels, the Imperial maintains its original grandeur and splendour. It's peaceful, tranquil and welcoming, with beautiful and not excessively expensive food.

If you've been eating in less salubrious surroundings, be aware that the food is quite rich compared with what you might find elsewhere. Go simple and don't over-order.
